Signal is saying excellant other pc working fine just won't connect i've tried repair but nothing.please help!!!
How do i get internet on my laptop from my pc not using a cable?
Double click on ur wireless icon in sys tray.wireless network status is shown ...click properties...in wireless properties scroll to internet protocol ...in internet protocol properties choose obtain ip address auto and choose obtain dns auto click ok..try to connect if no connection use repair ...you will see aquiring ip please wait.
I believe your problem is described in this article by HP. Read it and then call the HP number listed. If they agree that it's one of the problems in the article, then they will replace the motherboard free.

Not sure what an ssid is??
What make and model is your wireless card?
When you configured your wireless router, did you setup the router with encryption, if so was it WEP or WAP and did you enter the WEP or WAP encryption key into your wireless card using the wireless card's utility setup?
Also did you change any of the default settings on the router?
You should have change at least the default Admin password.
If not, someone could have hacked into your router and changed your settings and or steal of your Internet Access.
Has this laptop been working and connected to the internet before?
Your other PC, is it connected to the Internet by a network cable or by a wireless connection?
When you click on your wireless utility, can you see your wireless router and its SSID?
In internet explorer click on tools then internet options, then click on the connections tab, then select LAN settings. Make sure that you have Automatically detect settings and see if that helps. If that doesn't work then try the command prompt again and type: Ping google.com
If that works then it's the browser settings not your internet. Keep me posted
Click on start then run, type in cmd and hit enter. In the command prompt type ipconfig /all After that post what it says here and what browser you are using. I've dealt with similar problems but need a little more information. Thanks.
