Question about LG Studioworks 570LS 15.1" LCD Monitor

Contrast ,Brightness... box coming and going

The box that shows contrast,brightness etc,is coming and going automatically at different times,sometime very frequently.It is appearing even when the menu button on the monitor is not pressed.Please help.

Sorry it's a fault :( You can try to open the monitor and reallocate the buttons making sure that they are not stuck to the receiver,if that is the problem you will solve it. If the receiver itself is faulty,however, better get a new monitor. Of course if the monitor is still in warranty you can call LG's call center.

User mode window (for adjusting the contrast, brightness etc) appears again again automatically.


First off... I would Re-Start your computer...OR...Shut down manually... to see if this fixes your problem. It's possible your computer didn't accept the changed setting? But...what you are experiencing is a Corrupt File, which will need to be removed!

Not sure exactly what you did? Where you trying to adjust the contrast, brightness, etc,.?

If you went through your Desktop to adjust these settings, always make sure you select APPLY and OK..

If you went through your System to Change your Resloution, you may have a Conflict with your chipset or even Malfunctioned it?

If re-starting your computer didn't fix your problem, than shut your computer down again!

Upon,..Re-booting...This time hold the Control Key down, so you can get into SAFE MODE!

I would then do a SYSTEM RESTORE under (SAFE MODE) and Restore your computer back to an earlier period that your computer was working correctly! Even, if you cleared the problem on the first step provided! Just type in the search box in your Control Panel System Restore! Or you can type in at the START Button...System Restore!

Also, while in SAFE Mode...go to your Device Drivers in your Device Manager and check for any setting that have a yellow symbol next to them...Click on each one and Update the Drivers!

Always, make sure...you Re-Start your computer after doing any changes...!

Menu bar appears automatically in front of monitor and automatically uses it.


My SAMTRON monitor 56V is having a problem now..
The control menu of monitor settings which will appear
when the monitor control panel is pressed(Brightness,Contrast....) is coming frequently at my monitor without activation...
Now when the monitor is turned on, the control panel will come,and will not go even if we change the settings..
The control panel is switching between the CONTROL LOCK and UNLOCKED mode during each 5 seconds....So now I cant see anything on my screen
at the middle of the screen due to this overlaying settings panel.
I is giving the same effect as the Menu key is pressed in the panel..(exit,-,+,Menu).
This problem started some 2-3 months before..
Today I hav put some etylene cleaning solution through the gaps to clean from dust... still no change...
If somebody having a remedy please help me..

The brightness/contrast window pop up randomly and frequently. Brightness level keep on increasing automatically. Pls help.


A 15-inch CRT monitor? It's time to responsibly recycle it, and buy a 17-inch LCD monitor, because _nobody_ fixes CRT monitors any more.

HCL Monitor Screen Display Problem with Contrast menu showing up.


my hcl 17inches monitor is displaying contrast,brightness etc automatically
in the middle of the screen.even if i press the menu buttons it
disappears for a sec and comes again and again.what should i do to

This is common problem observed in many monitors compaq,HP,HCL,IBM this is happens mainly in rainy season due to moisture,by this moisture monitor button circuit get rust inside and button pad remain pressed. so it shows a strip at the middle of monitor like contrast or brightness. So this is minor problem just replace the monitor display control button sensor or circuit.Temporarily you can warm up the monitor by hanging a bulb of 60 watt nearer your monitor to takeoff the moisture.(Dont hang the bulb too near to the monitor). It definitely solves your problem.

hi im josh in cebu phils. Maureen may i help you? If it happened yesterday that the contrast box keep on coming. there's a problem in your monitor.so try to check the buttons if covered with dust cleaning may solved the problem.Maureen if you have the manual use it in adjusting the resolution and if you dont have try to press the button mark + or increase just press both of the to the brightnest as posible so that you may be able to proceed another action. thats all for now.hope i helped you.good luck.
