Question about Whirlpool LSQ8000 Top Load Washer
This washing machine is only 2 years old. I am able to start the load but when it's done filling with water it doesnt spin or do anything despite adjusting the knob. The electrical outlet is working.
What I tried was pushing the lid down and I could hear the machine trying to kick into a spin so then while pressing the lid down i rotated to cycle knob slightly ahead and the spinning started. So I geuss I need to fix the connection between the lid and the machine?!

It could also be the "driver/coupler" between the motor and the transmission...in which case, you'll have to take the outside of the unit (top, and three front sides) off (don;t worry they all come off together) and unscrew the "Diverter" and the motor off...the "coupler" is three pieces that are made up of two white plastic pieces and a middle black rubber piece...(about $15) It's there and designed to fail first before you burn out or break the motor or transmission. The motor is held on with two Phillips head (star) screws and two clamps...you should have no problem taking it off, replacing the coupler and reattaching them all...
Hope this helps.

Same as above...power is there, but once it fills, it stops...outlet is good, power is OCASIONALLY getting there, but no movement once the waer fills...
