Is asus v9520 video card compatible with dell dimension e520?

My SyncMaster 204B monitor has trouble displaying each time I restart the computer, (whether from hibernate, sleep, or completely off). Typically, i fidget with the power (turning on and off) as well as disconnecting and then reconnecting the monitor until it finally starts to work. I've installed the updated drivers for the video/graphics card (an integrated Intel GMA X3000). I'm thinking about installing an old video card (ASUS V9520/128M) from an old HP computer. Is this something that I should not do? I'd much rather figure out how to fix the issue without installing a new card.

I connected a different monitor (HP Pavilion f1903) and it is working. I'd still like to connect the ASUS V9520/128M, if it's better and if my Dell Pavilion e520 can handle it. It seems like the integrated Intel GMA X3000 is pretty weak.

SOURCE: Motherboard Installation Problem - Intel DP35DP

No solution, I'm afraid but I've had what could be a similar problem. Board DOA, apart from the small LED built in, and a flashing power LED (front of case), nothing. No spin ups, no fans (powered from a separate board). Have you yet worked out what caused your problem? I have a new PSU, I've swapped out the video card. My best guess, is something to do with the board arriving in a power-off or standby state that does not recognise my power supply (Tegan 500W).

SOURCE: can i put a graphics card for my intel D915GVWB mother board?

You can not use PCI-EXPRESS graphics cards. Only AGP 2/4X Graphics Cards Supported ( 1.5V Only) You should look for This kind of Graphics cards.

I recommend , You must try changing your Motherboard with processor and buy a graphics card ( powerful one) to play these games. Otherwise You wont enjoy any of those games you mentioned.

n.b : a common PCI-E card has 16x speed where you cannot use more than 4x on your system.

SOURCE: which intel Mboard DG31PR or DG41RQ is compatible with solaris10

As long as it's either Intel or SPARC (Intel in your case), Solaris will install just fine as long as you meet the minimum requirements.

How to upgrade E520 to dual monitor output? Could I just buy a dual port monitor card and plug into any slot and ignore the single port which is on-board?

Yes, you can. The one on the motherboard will then become a secondary. You will need to ensure that when you install the hardware that there is an open slot. When that is installed then boot into windows and install the drivers for the new video card. this will then tell the computer to ignore the VGA adapter on the motherboard and make the new video card primary. Thanks, Cody

Screen Resolution problem

Different video cards offer different ways to deal with a user's screen. ATI, and others, for instance, offer a "virtual desktop", which does what you're describing. You get to the settings that control this feature from the Personalize->Display Settings menu options. Here you'll also find the different resolutions your video adapter supports. If the 1600 x 1200 resolution is listed, then I would remove the existing driver for both the adapter and the monitor, and reboot the machine. On startup, Windows will most likely detect the "new" hardware (actually, your existing ones) and will go through the process of finding the appropriate drivers for your adapter. Good luck!

Unclear Display

Goto cotrol panel/display/settings and set the resolution to 640x480. Make your you are using the video driver from the manufactorer for your video card. Windows generic drivers do not work well for all monitors. When you get the proper video driver you can reset your resolution back to a higher setting.

Video card for Dell 531s

This computer uses a PCIe-16 slot, so any half-height dual-monitor card with DVI would do for you. The XFX Geforce 7200GS with 256MB memory has dvi and vgb outputs. It supports the resolution of your 20" Syncmaster, and is around $40 at Newegg.com at this time.

Yes. There is no vertical deflection. The circuit that controls vertical deflection is bad. This is an easy fix for a TV tech. Take it to the TV repair shop.
