I have a gpx mw 3837, and its 1 gb. it plays all the music, but when i plug it into the computer to open it, it's like it's locked and the media are hidden. media player says my device is empty but it obviously isn't. same thing happens when i go to my computer and click open or explore, the media folder is blank.
i would really like to delete some songs off here as well as retrieve the music, as my old pc is jacked and along went the music with it.
thanks!

You need to load the drivers and "gogear" has to appear in your synch list in WMP. Look into previous replies I have posted to find the software link. Copy all the music onto your hard drive so you can put it all back on using the synch feature.

Triple Reset for Philips’ GoGear:
Disconnect the Go Gear from computer. Press the reset pinhole until the player turns off. Hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard. If this pop-up does not appear, reset the player again WHILE connected to the computer. Open the Philips Device Manager, and go to Repair Tab. Reset the player one more time while connected to computer. Follow the repair instructions.
After repair is complete, upgrade the firmware for this player. Will erase all the songs, but you should be good to go again.

Run a Repair in the Philips Device Manager (note: the HDD6330 is not compatible with Windows Vista or with Windows Media Player 11 - pluggging the device into a computer with either of these installed will ruin the player, even though it may work initially).
Download the newest version of the Philips Device Manager:
