Hope you can help. Can't hear anything when phone is not on speaker. Can place and receive calls with speaker phone on or off. If the speaker phone is on all is well. If it is turned off, the call comes or goes thru, but no sound. Tried the volume button on side of phone when call is in progress and volume bar is displayed and moving up and down, but no sound. Any ideas?
You need a new ear piece set. very usual on v710 and e815. any drop or moisture and there goes the ear sound. You could check with this people. this where i get phone parts when i need them. Motorola phone parts710 e815 etc.
This exact issue happened to me: I left my phone off for 2 days (unplugged), turned it back on and the internal speaker started working normally again. The phone worked normally for over a month after this.
Yesterday, the earpiece speaker stopped working again after the phone fell out of my pocket. I suspect a loose connection or something similar, but I've had my phone off for the last day and will let you know whether or not it starts working again.

I was able to solve this problem by locating a suitable speaker on eBAY. eBAY was the only place I was able to find a replacement speaker for my cell phone.
It seems that Verizon (my cell phone provider) and Motorola only offer one solution to this problem - buy a whole new cell phone (which means signing up for another 2 years of Verizon wireless service). My solution was better and cheaper (only cost me $7.00 to buy it and have it shipped).
This has been the only problem I've ever had with this cell phone and the new speaker solved it.
