My car got broken in to and my Sony XR-M510 was removed but bafflingly left on the seat. Anyways, I reconnected all the cables and the cd auto changer works but when I press reset there is a beep but Code In does not appear - the display remains blank.
I have checked all the cables and they look ok. One thing is that the little s**ts have nicked the remote control as I stupidly left it in the glovebox. I can get a replacement for this but obviously I need to know that the stereo is working first. Anybody any ideas? The stereo is out of warranty so I can't send it off to be looked at - any help will be greatly appreciated.

When you disconnect your battery and then reconnect it again, it disables the radio. This is an anti-theft protection for your car radio. The enable your radio the activation code is in your vehicle owner's manual. If you do not have this code you need to go to your vehicle manufacturer's service centre and get them to enter this code for you.
Radio code is specific for each and every car. It is
specific like anti theft code.
So you can get it by providing
your VIN# and registration details in authorised dealership.Nobody else
can provide you. If anybody can provide you that , then there is no
meaning of security for your car..
