Question about Logitech QuickCam Communicate STX Personal Web Camera
I'm running Windows Vista and have finally found a good webcam that says it's Vista compatible, the Logitech QuickCam Communicate STX. However I installed the software, made sure I had the latest drivers, and when I try to open the webcam software, it all freezes up and doesn't recognize it, or gives me a series of popup error codes, and I end up having to forcequit the program with task manager. Tried using the cam on Yahoo Messenger (Logitech's site says it works) and it simply tells me the cam is not connected, despite the fact that it is. Any ideas?
Have you updated DirectX?, I'm not sure if Vista has DX9.0 or 9.0c, but you could try and update DirectX before you install the cam software. Also if the cam is usb, did you install the software "before" connecting the cam?, some people aren't aware that usb devices have to have the software installed first, before connecting the device.
