Ok i have the slim Ps2 and yesterday it got unplugged while it was on............ when i returned later that day I tried playing Gran Turismo 4 which was in it when it got unplugged can't be played. All it says is reading disc for a long time, but when i tried NBA 2K7 it works fine. what seems to be the problem?
Yeah, i have the same problem with GT4, and i tried taking out the memory card, still clicks and the disk never spins. I even have guitar hero 2 and that works no prob.

Try starting the game without the memory card in if it works then you know it was a memory card problem if not then disregard and buy a new ps2 lol

What may have happened is that the saved files for GT4 on your memory card have now become corrupt, and the disk when put in the suysstem is trying to read the data from the card, simply deleting your saved GT4 data from the memory card should allow the disk to play as normal.

try using a cd cleaner that also aligns the laser, as allignment may be the fault, if it's struggling to read data.

I tried it and it's still not working........ let me explain it more.....when i put the disc in all i hear is the fan and kind of a ticking sound ............... and i just found out it spins a little bit
I didnt try the second thing but........... i went back to walmart and returned it to get another one, the weird thing is that it doesnt play this new gt4 disc also..
I have a PS 2 slim and disk doesn't spin. I checked all connections - I have checked the cables - fine on the display but lazer doersn't show any life. motor for disk doesn't show life either. Any help?

So bought a new Gran Turismo 4 and it still does the same thing.

when i put the new smackdown vs raw 2009 cd into my console,it shows 'please insert the ps2 cd'.but when it put into another console it works.what's the reason? please....... solve it.
