Blank screen Everytime I turn on my laptop, my icons and the bottom toolbar would disappear after a few seconds. That leaves me a blank screen on my laptop. I could still use my laptop by opening programs thru the window task manager. Can anyone please advice what is happening on my laptop. Thank you.
When my Dell Inspirion comes out of sleep mode there is a pinkish tine, the desktop is on for a maybe 15 seconds then goes blank. I shut the top wait a few minutes and it does the same thing. It has been doing the 'pink' thing for a bout a week, today it started going blank. Put a shortcut for Internet Explorer on the desktop and then drag it down to the toolbar at the bottom. It will then restore it. If you have put too many icons on the toolbar it may disappear as it cannot be displayed. You then need to unlock the toolbar to see all the icons.
This sounds like corrupted Windows and will require a software reload, however you might try this to make things easier in the mean time... (written for XP) Right click in the taskbar (usually at the bottom of the screen). If 'Lock the Taskbar' is checked, click it to uncheck. Next, click 'toolbars' and 'Desktop'. This should put a new toolbar in your taskbar called Desktop. You should be able to push this all the way to the right. Now when you want to access the desktop Icons, they will be available at the double arrows on the right of the word Desktop. I keep mine this way all the time so I can access stuff on the desktop even when it is covered with open windows.
Leave the Macbook air turned on until the battery goes dead. Then Connect to power and start it up. That should solve the problem. You problem was caused by not letting an update install in full.
it sounds like a malufunctioning screen.. to test try to see if the computer reacts the same with another screen attached to it*if its a laptop connect and external screen to the port and when u start up press f4*
Move the mouse to the bottom of the screen to make the taskbar reappear. If you want this to display at all times, right-click on any blank area of the taskbar and select Properties. Clear the checkbox next to Auto-hide the taskbar.
