They will charge you that for just looking. If parts are needed they wont be lucky- unless they have a stock of cameras busted for other reasons they can strip parts from. Best bet - get the next camera

Showing lens control error fuji finefix HS 30 exr

Does it say Lens control error, or does it say Focus error, turn off the camera and turn it on again?
The last can happen when you touch the lens barrel. When the lens does not retract when you shut down the camera, perhaps the battery is exhausted or the barrel got stuck.
Try to recharge the battery and start all over again. If nothing goes, try carefully to pull out the lens a little Less then one millimetre. or gently press it back a little. Be aware the camera is a very delicate piece of equipment, so don't use force, because that could damage the camera definitive.
In the manual, it says you should contact FujiFilm, when the error comes back after you switched off and on. So if nothing helps, that is the last option. Visit a repair shop from Fuji, or bring a visit to your dealer.

Lens error.....restart camera. Tried over and over again. Nothing works. HELP!

Went to the beach yesterday, by the end of the night my camera gave me this error: "lens error, restart camera". The lens would no longer come out.

I figured sand got stuck within the lens, so I did the following:

1. Turn camera up-side-down (with lens facing down)
2. Gently tap the sides of the camera (to loosen particles in lens)
3. Turn camera on
4. The lens will eventually come out
5. Gently tap the sides of the lens
6. Turn camera off (continue tapping side of lens as it retracts)

I turned the camera on and off a couple of times to ensure I removed all sand particles from the camera.

Now the camera works...thank god....

thanks.

My fujifilm s1000 keeps showing "zoom error." I don't know what happend. It's like one day it's working, the next not. I have a family member graduating Friday and can't afford a new camera. I've taken out...

Hi.

If you try turning on the camera with the lens cap on, you may get zoom error. Ensure that you are removing the lens cap before turning on the camera.

If the autofocus ring is held while taking the picture, or operating the lens this will also cause the Zoom error message coming up.

If that is not the problem, then the lens has troubles extending. This may happen because of dust stuck in lens mechanism, or because of a mechanical fault concerning the lens.
Any cause preventing lens from full extention or retraction will trigger zoom error.

Here a basic manual in PDF format.

Lens error

Lens error means that something happened to the lens, some kind of damage. You need to send it into repairs. Call them at 800-706-2534 option 2 and tell them what error you have and they will tell you where to send it. :)

I have error 99 in my camera canon 400d

Error 99 is a general fatal error.
which includes the problems above mentioned by Q4SteveB but also many others.

It can be caused by a dicky shutter, problems with the CF card interface.

If cleaning and trying a different lens has not worked. Not definitive but as a rule of thumb...
If it letting you take one picture then giving error 99.. and the picture is saved to the card (but may just be black) this is most likely the shutter needs replacing..

If it takes a picture and gives error 99 but there is no picture on the card or the picture is 0KB its a CF interface problem.

If you get an error 99 when you plug in the USB its a USB interface error, you can try a different cable but unfortunately in most cases if another lens or cable wont work it needs repair

Lcd reads system error

Apparently often related to a lens motor malfunction. My old 4300 just gave this error for the first time today. The lens extended but made a whirring noise before the message popped up. Nothing I tried would fix it - but after I drove home it worked fine again.

I had a similar problem over a year ago after the camera fell out of my backpack (it was in its own bag but not well padded). When I used it the lens stuck and refused to retract, but I don't recall a "System Error" message. After a few tries, the lens went in and it's been fine since, until today.

Make sure there's nothing (dust, dirt) stuck in the lens barrels. Otherwise, just keep turning it on and off and hope it works.

Canon SD600 lens jam

I followed the directions contained in http://www.avh.dds.nl/Fix-Canon-SD600-Lens-Error/ and by disassembling the camera and turning the rotor just a little bit (page 4 of the instructions), it freed up the lens and it is now working perfectly! The camera had been put down on the lens as the lens was retracting and I assume that jammed the retract mechanism. While the camera was open, I blew out whatever dust/dirt was there (didn't see much). The fix took me probably 20-30 minutes, and I am very pleased with myself!

Lens error/system error

I have successfully fixed the same error on a Nikon 2100 by dissasembling the camera and removing grit from the gears that drive the lens. However, if the camera has been dropped, I suspect that something has got dented or bent. It may be worth taking the camera apart to see if a gear has got dislodged.

I would warn you to be very careful not to get a shock off the flash capacitor inside the camera though. Also, it took me quite a while to put it all back together. It's not the easiest device to work on, a result of the very compact body (for its time!)
