I have a senseo hd7810/70 which boils, but does not brew
The machine worked fine for several years. Then I did not use it for a while. At that time algae grew in the water tank. So I cleaned it out. After that the machine would boil, but not brew. I got a new water tank thinking that might be the problem, but replacing the water tank had no effect. The machine is a Phillips Senseo HD7810/75/B 120V 60HZ 1450W.
While the water is heating there is a blinking red light; after the water is heated the light is a steady red light. If I try to brew (by pressing either the 1-cup brew-button or the 2-cup brew-button) there is a slight noise ("rrrrrrr"); however, nothing happens. While the water is heating there is a blinking red light; after the water is heated the light is a steady red light. Someone wrote in with the telephone number for a Senseo help line (866-473-6736). This was helpful. The person answering the help number said to try descaling with citric acid, and if that did not work to buy a new machine. The manual is next to useless. I would find the closest Gaggia Service Centre and ask them to diagnose and fix. It says it needs descaling every 2 weeks, but you have a blockage in a water valve somewhere.
The problem may lie with the small tube which pokes a hole in the coffee pod. The tube may be blocked by bits of coffee grounds or loosened scale.
You will need to remove the holder into which a pod is to be inserted.
You then should be able to snap the holder apart.
Then, you should find the small tube which pokes a hole in the pod for brewing.
Use an unbent paper clip to try to gently dislodge anything that may be blocking the tube. Do this over the kitchen sink while water runs over the tube.
There are also tubes which inject water into the pod. Find them and use the paper clip to dislodge any clogs.
Reassemble the coffee maker.
Without inserting a pod, run water through the machine in the brewing cycle - 3 separate times. Place a glass or metal measuring cup to collect the water. Notice if any debris comes out with the "brewed" water.
Then, insert a pod into the machine and run the brew cycle to determine if the coffee is properly brewed.
If the coffee still isn't brewed properly, I suggest you contact Senseo (owned by Philips) Customer Service by telephone. I have no idea where you live, so I cannot provide you with the correct telephone number to call.
This lookes like a problem I experienced with another model of the Senseo. The problem here was the 470nF X-capacitor in the capacitive power supply. (230VAC models) Try replacing.
The scientific reason for the cloudiness of tea is the precipitation of the tannins in the tea that occurs when the tea is cooled. Cloudiness does not affect the flavor of the tea.
Stronger brews tend to cloud more readily than weaker ones.
High quality teas cloud faster than others.
Hard water also has a clouding affect on tea
Add a small amount (1/4 cup) of boiling water into the brewed tea to help reduce the amount of cloudiness.
it sounds like the pod holder is clogged, it has only one small hole to let out water. open up the machine in the sink as it will spray due to the water pressure. try the other pod holder first. if it works check the other one by holding it up to the light. if it is clogged clean the first one by using a pin to clear the hole.
If no good,

I'm thinking it needs to be "Descaled" Heres info from Senseo.com:
Does my Senseo® appliance need to be descaled?
Yes. Descaling is an important element in Senseo maintenance. It should be done at least once every three months, up to six times a year!
Keeping your Senseo free of scale will:
Ensure you have maximum cup volume
Ensure you have maximum coffee temperature
Make your Senseo produce less sound while brewing
Prevent your Senseo from malfunctioning
Prolong your Senseo's life.
The descaling process takes about one hour and should not be interrupted. Only a descaling agent based on citric acid can be used safely in the Senseo. Other agents, including vinegar, may damage your appliance or not remove the scale entirely. If the procedure is not performed correctly, scale residue may remain in the machine. This causes scale to build up more quickly and may cause permanent and irreparable damage to the machine.
The parts to repair a problem of this magnitude are generally not available. The DCC-2000 has a thre-year warranty. I would call Cuisinart and see if you can get an in-warranty replacement. I have a high opinion of cuisinart and their products, but this particular coffeemaker, I do not personally reccomend.
Having dismantled and inspected several of this "strange machines" my conclusion is the following:
There is an oscillating-piston pump inside with in- and outlet valve.
It is energized by a microprocessor controlled circuit for a working time depending on the button selected (1 or 2 cups). The pressure and flow are nearly constant for a perfect working pump.
The pod holder restricts the thruput by its central hole. (E.g. you get now an extra pod-holder with a very small hole for expresso type)
So if you don't get enough coffee it may be that
1) the duty-cycle (timing) of the pump has changed.(not often occurring) no repair, you have to undergo electronic and programming work
2) the pump lost efficiency (cylinder of the pump clogged, piston not working with complete stroke, spring force fadening or just one of the 2 valves leaking) ca be "repaired" after dismantling machine ,extracting pump and taking it apart, success not garanteed - grinding valves is already time spending
so my principle before starting this work is to run the machine without the coffee pod to check the water output, use a new holder with clean central hole, if this works it will be nr.
3) the central hole of the holder is clogged, may be not by limestone, but dried coffee extract (grease) clean with needle or even better with micro-drill
