Graphics card problem

Hai,i bought lenovo laptop before 5 monyhs.. i have windowsxp operating system... still now it does not support any games... standby mode is also not working...there is no GMA driver in my driver cd... how can i get and install the gma driver... please help me...

External graphics for lenivo laptops
Laptop graphics cards are normally on the motherboard and can't be replaced. I said normally, as there are some exceptions. There are no "external" cards. You could go into the bios settings and see if you can increase the amount of shared graphics memory for your model. But keep in mind that the more memory the graphics card uses the less there is for windows to use, and this could cause a slow down of the rest of the system. The only way to know for sure is to try. You can always change the settings back.

Lenovo Ideapad Y510 NVIDIA Driver for WindowsXP
go to lenovo or ibm webpage and select drivers download, chose your model and your operating system and download the display driver make sure it says nyvidia display driver . this will fix your problem.

Cant play game
Unless you have a laptop built for gaming you can't. They run between $1800 to $5000. , build a desktop system for gaming and keep the laptop for other stuff. My desktop has twin 7950's in sli mode. you need a faster hd and graphics card along with 2 gigs of ram and at least a 2gig dual core, now they run 3 gig quad cores.

What is your operating system. ALSO most laptops do not support high graphic games like this (yes the sims is considered high graphics) You need to check minumum requirements on the box. If you have a Vista PC make sure the game is VISTA compatible.... some games even pc compatible sate that they will/may not work with laptops.... unfortunatly you can NOT change the graphic card on a laptop because it is saudered on the motherboard.

Have you made 100% certain that you have the right driver. The laptop versions of nVidia cards are different to their desktop counterparts.
They use the suffix of "go" and the drivers normally have to be obtained from the laptops website.
