My cingular motorazr is going nuts! It keeps resetting the ring volume and setting itself to silent. I don't have to be anywhere near it, it just lays there and starts doing stuff on it's own. I can't really do anything to reset it, because every time I touch it this ring style thing comes up and I can't go anywhere on my phone. Thought about sending it in, is that pricey?? Sometimes it locks up too, always has, had it for about 9 or 10 months now. Had a verizon razr too and it screwed up quite a bit, but always came out of it. This one is not coming out of it on it's own, I took battery and sim card out, left it alone for 12 hours or so, etc.. Is there any way I can plug it into my pc and run an anti virus on it or something?? Please help!
I haven't heard of any viruses for the razr yet. Do you hook your phone up to a computer or go on the internet alot with your phone? How do do carry your phone? If you carry it in your pocket if can effect by moisture from your body or pressure if it you sit on it. There may be moisture involved and sometimes it is unable to escape just by setting it out. Try a hair dryer or a nice sunny window sill inside with the battery out.

Aslim, go to your profiles, select silent, before you select *activate*, select *personalise* in the ringing tone panel, select *no tone*, in the ringing volume panel, reduce the volume to nothing. In the message volume panel, reduce the volume to nothing also. Then select *save*. Then you can activate silent. This should help.
Make sure that you didn't turn your phone to silent. Hold down the # key and see if it say silent or loud, soft, etc.. Make sure that the volume is turned to maximum, by using the top switch on the left hand side of your closed hand set. Make should that you have a ring tone assigned because if not nothing will work. Follow the below instructions
Menu-Settings-Ring Styles-Detail-Calls (Assign a tune)-click OK
volume may be turned off or down or it is set on silent. go to settings, go to ring styles, select style and edit/add. scroll down to the ringer of choice and hit select. hopefully that will work. also try the volume on the side of phone. by pressing top left button, you can change ring styles that way.also controls volume.
