Contact cingular. If it's a SIM locked contract phone and you fulfilled your minimum contract time, they may provide you with the unlock code for free or a small fee.

Contact AT&T, ask if your phone could be unlocked to other networks. If you're paying by contract, you will have to wait until your contract has expired, then you may ask for it to be unlocked to other networks.

No Only Cingular Sims Work In Cingular Phones.

To use a SIM Card with a different phone service than it was originally programed for, you will have to unlock the phone. Phones come locked to a specific service provider and/or country. In theory, you can contract your phone provider and request an unlock code. In practice, many providers refuse to give these codes out.

There are also services online that will provide these codes, or let you ship your phone to them to be unlocked, for a fee. One such site is: http://www.unlockcellphone.com/ - but there are many more. Do a google search for "unlock cell phone" and you'll find quite a few links... find the one that has the best price for your phone model.

Of course, there's a chance the card will work as-is if you're still using the same phone provider. But with all the changes AT&T has gone through, I wouldn't count on it.

Get an ATT/Cingular network SIM card for $6. It is a pay-as-you-GO phone SIM, but you can have ATT xfer your number to it and also make order a standard monthly contract plan for it.

If it is really an older ATT nework BLUE phone, then the new ATT Cingular network does not support it. It must be network unlocked to use on ANY carrier.

You can google the phone model and UNLOCK to get free unlock software you can use yourself on an XP PC . Software won;t run on VISTA.
