Its says my ink absorber is full. Is that something i can empty or does it need a part replacement???

You can change the absorber - messy, have it serviced - expensive or you can follow these instructions to reset the notice.

This has worked on MP150 and should work just fine on your MP160.

This will eliminate the ink absorber notice.

printer powered off but connected on power source , you must:
1. Press & hold stop/reset button, and then press & hold [ON/OFF] button.
2. When Green power lit, leave stop/reset button & press twice stop/reset (see orange indicator).
3. Leave On/Off button. Printer in actually service mode.
4. Press stop/reset 4 times (see orange indicator) if not blink restart above process from top.
5. After press stop/reset 4 times successful press On/Off button 3 times. printer will off.
6. Press On/Off button.

Error 27

Turn off your printer and press the POWER BUTTON while pressing and holding the STOP/RESET BUTTON.

When the Power on, press the STOP/RESET BUTTON twice while pressing and holding the POWER BUTTON.

Release the POWER and STOP/RESET BUTTONS. Your printer will now move into the service mode.

When the power light turns green, press the STOP/RESET BUTTON 4 times.

You will then notice that each time the STOP/RESET BUTTON is pressed, the LED lights change from orange to green.

Now turn off your printer, then turn it back on.

If it doesn't work, keep trying from first step.

1) With the printer powered off but connected to a power source, press the Power button while pressing and holding
the Stop/ Reset button.
2) When the Power is lit, press the Stop/Reset button two times while pressing and holding the Power button.

Canon mp780 -waste ink near full??

Dear mr perfect,
Few days ago I have answered the same question about this for Canon MP700. Here is my answer:
Waste ink absorber capacity of your printer has rise to about 90-95 %. Tentatively, you can continue printing by pressing STOP/RESET button. When ink absorber capacity reach about 100%, the printer stop working and message 'Waste Ink Tank is Full' appears.
To fix this problem, you need to reset waste ink counter. It strongly recommended that you replace waste ink absorber after resetting waste ink counter.
Here are steps resetting waste ink counter of this printer:
  • With the machine power off, while pressing STOP/RESET button, press and hold the ON/OFF button. (Do not release the buttons).
  • While holding ON/OFF button, release the STOP/RESET button. (Do not release the ON/OFF button).
  • While holding the ON/OFF button, press the STOP/RESET 2 times and then release all buttons. (Each time STOP/RESET is pressed, the alarm LED and COPY lights alternately starting with alarm LED).
  • When the COPY button lights in green, press STOP/RESET button 4 times. (Each time STOP/RESET is pressed, the alarm LED and COPY lights alternately starting with alarm LED).
  • Turn off the printer.
Your printer should work normally now.
