Mp4 player not working

Check your MP4 player's system requirements.
Some MP4 players are only capable of working with certain operating systems and hardware, so refer to your player's documentation to ensure it is capable of functioning with your PC.
Change the USB port your MP4 player is connected to if you have confirmed your PC can function with your MP4 player.
Disconnect other USB devices, and try connecting your player to another USB port if you are still having problems.

Try restarting your PC if it is capable of working with your MP4 player.
Restarting your PC resets non-functioning USB ports, which may be your problem.

Make sure your USB cable is connected properly.
If your player requires you to install drivers, make sure you install them.

Try connecting your player to another PC to see if the new PC recognizes it.
If it does, chances are your computer does not support the hardware necessary to run your player.

Reset your MP4 player if your PC is still unable to recognize it.
Resetting your player varies depending on the manufacturer and model, so refer to your player's documentation.

Contact your player's manufacturer if you are still unable to get it to work with your PC.

How can i encode MP4 to AVI format?

It is normal, my Windows phone doesn't support mp4 either so I have to convert the videos all the time. There must be a converter on the set up disk that goes with your phone. If there is not, try this free mp4 to avi converter, it's rather good.

When I try to put a converted youtube video from MP4 to an AVI on this player it tells me its in an invalid format. I have 2 players one for music and one for videos. I can't remember how I did it last...

Make sure which formats the player supports. Avi is just the container and can have many formats . According to the specs the player supports wmv,avi and flv try converting the videos again but use a resolution of 220x176, it might help as the player would not have to scale the video down. I have also noticed that the transcend player MP860 had it's own converter software. Check if your friends have the MP860 or MP870 player and install the software off the cd and try converting the video files as the coby may support the same format.

Is it possible to import MP4 files into Windows Movie Maker 6.0 without having to convert to a different format first? I have a Pinnacle Video Transfer device that creates MP4 files, that I want to...

Windows Media Player 11 recognizes and plays MPEG-4 just fine but WMM doesn't recognize them. I would like to import some MPEG-4 files into Movie Maker and work with them - is there a codecs or something that allows this?

I'm sure I can find a program to convert MP4 into a format MM will recognize but if possible I'd like to just skip the conversion step and work with MP4 directly in MM.

Thanks!====================================================
Movie Maker is not compatible with MP4 files...
best bet would be to convert them to .wmv.

The following freebie might be worth a try:

Format Factory
http://www.pcfreetime.com/

All to MP4 / 3GP / MPG / AVI / WMV / FLV / SWF.
All to MP3 / WMA / AMR / OGG / AAC / WAV.
All to JPG / BMP / PNG / TIF / ICO / GIF / TGA.

You need some software to convert the protected M4P music file to unprotected MP3, WAV etc first, then you can import the mp3 files into Windows Movie Maker as background music.
TuneClone is such a software to convert the M4P music file to MP3, WAV easily. You can click here to download TuneClone and convert them to MP3 files and then import the music files into Windows Movie Maker project.

TuneClone uses a virtual CD burning technology to simulate the burning and ripping process and can convert M4P files to MP3 without any CD-R disc and do this work quickly. TuneClone installs a virtual CD-RW, it helps you burn any unprotected or DRM protected M4P, M4a, WMA music files onto the virtual CD, rips tracks on the virtual CD, encodes tracks onto MP3, WAV or WMA music files. It can repeat this audio converting procedure until your whole music collection is done.
Since the virtual CD emulates your computer RAM and hard disk as erasable CD-RW drive (Virtual CD-RW), the converting speed is faster than any other m4p to mp3 conversion programs.

Windows Movie Maker is video creating/editing software that is included in recent versions of Microsoft Windows. It contains features such as effects, transitions, titles/credits, audio track, timeline narration, and Auto Movie. New effects and transitions can be made and existing ones can be modified using XML code.

I have an mp4 player and i dont know much about formatting it. Do i need to format it before i put data into it? Or when do i format it?

I haven't used an Mp4 player... but it should have came with a start up disk or some sort of software for the player. I would open up what ever media player on your pc that you are going to use... ie Windows Media Player... Winamp... Real Player... Plug the Mp4 player to your pc and see if it is recognized on you pc... Experiment with it and see where you get.... you will soon realized if you need to format the player or not. I wouldn't think that you would have to do much to get it going. I know that alot of the mp4 players don't come with much instructions. Many are mass produced overseas, I have heard both good and bad reviews on them... but if the price is right what do have to lose

Dont how to put vidios on my mp3

Hi,
If you want to put your videos in a media player (such as mp4, ipod video, etc.), first you will have to convert your videos in a format (ex: .mp3 at the end of the file name is a music format, .mp4 and .wmv are video formats) that your video player recognize and will be able to read. Generally formats recognized by pocket video player are .mp4, .mpeg4 and .asf but it change in function of your model
To convert your videos you will need a software called a video converter. Sometimes a CD coming with your mp4 includes this software, but unfortunatly not always...
I can recommend you this software:
http://mediacoder.sourceforge.net/downlo
MediaCoder is powerfull universal converter that will allow you to convert all your medias (video music etc) in formats of your choice, it's really easy to use and free. Try it.
Then the last thing is just to connect your mp4 to your PC (by USB, bluetooth etc in function of the model) and to transfert your videos from your pc to your mp3.
Thanks
Smith.

Mp4 not recognized

1. Install the software that was coming with it, if you don't have it anymore get it from the manufacturer website.

2. if that doen't work try it on another computer

If number 2 . worked its a problem with your PC or windows installation, you can try to reinstall windows if you see your USB are not working at all , if not your MP3 player is likely to be defective if you tried it on a fresh updates install of windows.
