I ve seen this issue from other users.
I have a red shadow on my screen and ive read that it is the convergence board, particularly the ic's.
I have never soldered a circuit board, so im not sure i am comfortable doing this, even though i think i could.
Is it easier to replace both boards, and if so where can i purchase them? And some instructions on doing so.

Yes, you can do that but , boards are expensive ,its better to replace the ic's and may other resistors assosiate with to them. step by step folowing intructions may you can try only if you already have some tools. like soldering iron ,multimeter ,solder, and patience . hope this help you to make your decision, if you need part # let me know

can you post a pic of your screen to show the shadowing, as red usually isnt affected with coolant contamination it may be a convergence issue. A pic would help me be better able to help diagnose the problem.
Sounds like the convergence ic's need to be replaced or resoldered. Sometimes it can be a microfuse if you are lucky. But my question is if you hit the focus button up front does it make it thru the auto convergence? Let me know. Have a good one.
