Hi, i will try and help.
Turn on the computer, as soon as you have pressed the on button press and hold F8. A list will come up. Choose safe mode. Then when it boots, in the username type administrator and the password will usually be blank, if this does not work try "admin". If there is a log on field showing then choose log on to this computer and do not choose dial up. Then press ok. The computer should log on. When it asks you if you want to continue working in safemode click yes. Then click start. Click control panel. Click user accounts. Click the password protected user account. Choose remove password. Then restart the computer and it should work normally.

Tell me if you need more help or if somthing goes wrong then you can take a picture of it and send it to [email protected] .

Thanks

Windows xp desktop and taskbar are being hidden

it could be a virus if not try to right click on the something with your mouse and see if any menu pops up. you can also try this ctr+alt+del and you come up in a window if im right (if not then not) but then go to file and or start taskbar manager(in windows 7 ) file> run new task> and type in explorer.exe I think this should do some thing of visual contact. if not. I think the problem is deep. my next mind think is try to save some important files and prepair to install windows all over again. im guessing you have a very slow computer and a semi-professional person is really needed. unless you know what your doing.

Windows XP Professional Re-installation inTriple-Boot

This was an very interesting way of sharing a computer
six persons sharing one physical drive with 5 partitions.
If that physical drive breaks all six persons loose their files in one crash.
The easiest way to do it, is to buy an external drive and have a meating with the six persons telling about the situation, if noboby attemts to save their files, they might loose them for good.
Everybody does a backupp on the external drive,
and then a full format on your home computer to get a new fresh installed fresh drive.
This was a little bit of a complicated solution,
as 6 persons sharing the same drive,
but i hope it helped!

My son can't remember his password so we cant sign into windows at all.Is there a default?

Im sorry to tell you my friend, the default is you are locked out forever.

I trust you didnt save a hint nor write it down somewhere ...

You might find a solution ... but if you want to use the computer while XP and Vista are still in use, relolad the operating system.

alternatively, take it to a professional and let him or her reload the operataing system. Expect to pay at least $100.00.

If you need further help with this, please let me know.

Help me w/ my tsk bar:(

Hi
If you go to Control panel>>>System then click the 'Advanced' tab followed by performance settings. At the bottom make sure that 'Use visual styles on windows and buttons' is ticked.

Next if you go to your desktop, right click in an empty space, go to 'properties' and make sure that under 'Theme:' 'Windows XP' is selected.

The trouble with speeding up your computer is that it often does look ugly at the end. The trick is to find a balance between speed and looks! I reccomend using a free program such as Iobit Advanced Windows Care Personal to keep your computer running at a reasonable pace without compromising on looks.

Hope this helps!

Forgot password window xp

Two ways to to fix this:

If you can log in with a different account crack the password:
1.crack the password - Use http://ophcrack.sourceforge.net/

If you just want to reset the password use this solution:
2.reset the password with a bootdisc - http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/

I've used both and they work great, let me know if you need more help =)
