There is sometimes a switch on remote controls to differntiate if you have the same model or make of the machines.
So you set them a DVD1 or DVD2 etc., this way you can operate two machines one at a time and not both responding to one command.
Have a look on your remote if not there then look into your op manual.

How to use your control with my dvd player

Hello chegui59, my name is Michael Hurst with DISH Network. There are 2 ways of programming your remote to your DVD player. You can use a remote code for your DVD player. In order to give you the right remote code I would need to know the manufacture of your DVD player and the model of the remote that you have. You can also try a Power Scan to get the DVD player programmed into your DISH remote, here are the steps: Withthe desired equipment on, press and hold the correct mode button until all modebutton backlights illuminate, then release. Press and release the Power button. AUX Mode: Before pressingand releasing the Power button. Press 0 for a TV, Press 1 for a VCR/DVD andPress 2 for any other device. Then Press STAR (*). Press the Up button once asecond while pointing the remote at the desired equipment. If the code for theequipment comes up, the equipment will power off. Press the POUND (#) button. Ifthe code entered is valid for the remote, the mode light flashes three times.

DMR--EZ48V

Your DMR is telling you that it is set to listen for RC2 but your remote is transmitting RC1.

Two choices for a fix:

1. Put the remote back into RC2 mode by simply holding both the ENTER and 2 button for at least 5 seconds.

OR

2. Reconfigure the DMR to listen for RC1 by going into the function menus and selecting SETUP. Look for the remote control option. Change it to 1, it will currently display the value 2.

Enjoy.
