Question about Philips 55PP9363 55" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
My television gives me a headache now when I watch it, because I have blue halos all over. Everybody has a blue shadow above or on the side of there head, and objects are the same way. I have tried fixing the multipoint, which does not work. The arrows are hard to push and once you fix one side and go to the other side, the first side you fixed is off. I am ready to throw the television out the door.
It sounds like the convergence amp need to be replaced. That unit is a DPTV335 chassis and IC 7044 is an STK392-120. That together with all feed resistors for that circuit need to be tested for change in value.. Before doing that you might also check to see if the blue crt yoke is up tight in place and not tilted. Have you moved the TV at all recently, before this problem happened?? If so the yokes on these units have been known to slip down. You can look at this yourself by removing the frony covers and exposing the CRT area. Look at the blue yoke, comparing it to all the rest. Make sure to do this with the unit unplugged. At the back of the yoke you'll see a set screw that clamps the immediate rear of the yoke If the yoke has slipped it will be noticeably lower than the rest by comparison. If ANY of this sounds too complicated it's shop time. But replacing the repair to the convergence circuit isn't difficult. You might also ask as you're calling around the shops if they have that STK on-hand.. Also, take the unit in and you'll save on the cost of having the shop transport it... Good Luck Bill
