SOURCE: dvd not loading
The general amateur fix, and one with surprisingly high success rates is to brush dust accumulated on the laser lens. This is assuming you get this with all disks, otherwise better not risk opening it. Plug it out, open the screws, open it up, if necessary remove another board covering the lens, and gently brush the dust off. Assemble back and hopefully you're solved. Anything else is for the lab(motor, lens assembly, focusing problems etc) Good luck

it is the internal lazer light. if you communicate with coby they will fix it . it seems to happen quit often ed

This of course may not be the exact same thing, but mine did the same thing. Sounding like it was loading, but in fact pressing the open button it I could see the disc not spining at all (normally you would.) With the power off of course. I took all the bottom screws out (where ever the arrow points to a screw) including to the display. There is one ribbon cable easily disconnected. I lifted the mount the DVD sits on and reseated it. I put a disc in it, turned on the power and the disc turned. Great I thought. I reconnect the cable, put the screws back in - and its working.

you need to clean the disc and make sure it fits in wright if that dose not work try another disc.
