Coby MP3 player is full but songs do not show up on my computer

First, Coby absolutely stinks for customer service. I have tried everything to reach them. Can't get through by phone and they will not respond to emails. WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER COBY PRODUCT because of this.

But I do have the unit. MP300-4G. It works fine. It has over 800 songs on it but when I plug it into my computer, it shows I only have 11 songs on it. The problem is that I cannot delete songs I want to remove because they are not there to delete? Suggestions?

I re-checked and found that all but 11 songs are gone. Do not know why they disappeared but they are gone from the MP3 player. Could not find any "reset pin" and there is a "lock" on the player but I do not know what it does because it is not mentioned in the owners manual.

Any idea why the songs were erased and what I can do to prevent that in the future?

Same unit. Everything has been erased from it but it still says that 3.84 gig is taken up. So basically, there are no songs on it but it is almost full. Any idea how to completely erase the thing? Thanks

There are no songs on there but its saying space is full

Try this: Connect your MP3 player to your computer. Open "My Computer". You should see your MP3
player connected. Right click on it. Click on FORMAT. This should completely wipe everything on your
MP3 player (except for the original necessary files that came on it origianlly). You should then be able to
get all of your space back.

Tranfering files

Coby no longer keeps a full user manual for this product, but you can use Windows Media Player to transfer your songs onto the player. It is not compatible with iTunes, but you can use the Rip tab in Windows Media Player to rip songs from a CD - you have to go into the Rip Options and change the Rip format to Mp3 first. Coby does have a video on the process at:
http://www.cobyusa.com/?p=tutorial

You can also load mp3 files from a music service such as Limewire into your computer's "My Music" folder - Windows Media Player should automatically detect the songs, but it may take a few minutes.

Good luck!

Coby 2GB MP075-2G - memory storage problem

I work for Coby technical support. Our customer service phone number is 1-800-727-3592.

Try reformatting the player and then reloading your music. To reformat, follow these steps:

Step

Connect the unit to your computer via the USB port.
Step2
Double-click the My Computer icon on your desktop, or, click your start button and choose My computer from the right side of the start menu.
Step3
Right-click the icon for the Coby player.
Step4
Choose Format from the menu that appears, and choose quick format after that.

Step5
Click Start.

My Coby MP-705 Won't Let Me Delete Songs

Just format your player and it should get rid of everything, including the preinstalled junk. Right click 'internal storage' and select format.

My Coby MP-705 Won't Delete Songs

I had the same problem - VERY frustrating. Just found the answer, and am very happy to share it!

1. In setting/USB mode, select MSC mode.
2. Plug in Coby to USB
3. Open My Computer. Look for the Coby as a REMOVABLE DISK, not the Coby.
Files will be there for Viewing and Deleting! (On XP, at least).
4. Make a backup of MTP.BIN and WMPInfo.xml, which I think is the operating sytem?

I got the clue from here:
http://www.fixya.com/support/t357600-problem_coby_mpc7095_2_gb_mp3_player

Paupaul
Well, turn on you mp3 player, go on setting/USB mode and select MSC mode.

Then plug it on your computer and check in MICIN.DIR folder. You must find them.

It wasn't exactly what I saw, but once I looked, it was all there. Perfect!

I cant listen to music on my mp3 player

Are the songs already on the MP3 player or are you talking about the audio files on your computer?

Error 4 is an internal error and the unit will need to be fixed. Please contact Coby Customer Service for further warranty information:
