Question about RCA 35V432T 35" TV

2 Answers

No picture The TV is only a year and a half old and the picture will not come on when the set is turned on. The sound is fine. Over the last 6 to 8 months we have been experiencing a static just before my furnace comes on. When a video game was played on the set using the front RCA jacks the furnace didn't produce any static on the screen. Two days before it stopped working the static did occur even using the front jacks. Has anybody experienced a picture tube dying after such a short time?

Most likely your tube is not bad but rather you have a loss of video. It's going to take a repair facility to find out the true cause of the loss of video though.

I have an LG model 37lc2d the screen is black but has illumination and no sound at all and the green power light flashes 16 times upon powering up?

Things to check: Make sure your TV is set to the correct input.
I DK about the light flashing 16 times but that could be a stuck key on your remote control. If you can, urn off your remote and try turning on by hand and going through the "INPUT" choices to make sure you have it on the correct setting. BTW, if your TV is 5 years old, you'll make the money back in no tie if you get a new "Energy Star" TV. The new Energy Star TVs run on very little electricity compared to 5 years ago.

Insignia lcdtv32 poewr on but no picture

You need to check the 12 or 24v source coming from the power supply to the inverter board, that's the board usually to the left and rather tall. Get your meter set, then turn the set on and see what happens, if the voltage comes up and then shuts down, you'll need to pull the plug for the inverter and measure the voltage again. If it stays up you have a bad converter board, if not then it's in the power supply, that's good old fashion trouble shooting from there on.

Picture is gone! :*(

the picture tube (what makes the TV picture work) has blown out. Just call you nearest tv reapair shop and purchase a new one. (these are kind of expensive!)

(Also, if it's fifteen years old, i think it's time to get a new T.V. hint. hint.)
