Question about Krups 572 Power Xtreme VI Work Top Blender
The rubber drive on my Krups 572 wore out and I've got a replacement part for it. My question is how to remove the old one so I can replace it? Does it pop off or unscrew or what? Thanks in advance...
It's not easy. you will need a set of pliers, a flathead screwdriver, and a phillips screwdriver. first, remove the 4 rubber plugs from the bottom of the blender (just work them out with your fingers). second, use the phillips screwdriver to unscrew the 4 screws that were under the ruber plugs. the blender should come apart. right in the bottom center on the inside of the blender you should see a steel rod with a groove in it. this rod will run all the way to the top and be connected to the rubber gear drive on top. get a firm grip on the rubber gear drive with your pliers. place the flathead screwdriver into the groove of the steel rod and unscrew. it will be very tight, but eventually, it will give. you will most likely destroy the old rubber gear drive in the process, but the idea is to replace that one anyway. good luck!

I had the same problem and unscrewing the 4 srews at the bottom didn't help much. There is a black plastic piece under the grey rubber drive clutch which prevents the blender from coming apart. However, I did find a way of getting around the problem.
Use a knife or some other tool to remove as much of the grey rubber as you can. You will end up with a round metal piece (the bottom part of the grey rubber drive clutch) and a small metal pin (from the blender engine) going through it. You will need two sets of plyers; one to carefully hold the metal pin in place while you gently unscrew what is left of the old rubber drive clutch with the other. You will now be able to replace the rubber drive clutch but be careful not to wreck the metal pin while unscrewing. Good luck!

Hi guys, I have the same problem. The grey rubber drive for the is brocken. I did made a plastic custom drive for it some time ago by molding it to the form on the bottom of the glass but now it got destroyed also. My question is, where did you get the grey rubber drive from? Please email or post any adress you might have thanks!

I stripped away the rubber on top to expose the metal disc underneath the rubber. I took the bottom off of the unit using a tamper-proof Torx 20 bit (found this at Autozone in a kit of tamper-proof Torx bits). Then I held on the the metal disc using a pair of pliers while I turned the screw on the bottom of the unit using a drill with a screwdriver bit. This was tricky but it worked! I screwed the new drive couple on by hand and tightened as well as I could, but didn't get it on as tight as it originally was. Unit still works fine now.
