Hey basically the subject sums up my problem. Everytime i turn my camera on i get a little message saying "e25" i've found out its something to do with the focus, but i dont no how to sort out the problem. Please can you help me, im only 16 so i cant afford to get it repaired really. Thanks :)

Remove and reinsert the batteries to see if the error code will reset. Generally speaking, there is nothing you can do to correct the problem other than to send the camera to the appropriate factory service center for correction of the error.

That means that the little engine that was moving the lens is clogged with sand,dust or any other material. A sollution you could try at home would be to use a little paper and stick it in the space of the lens to see if there is any dust. I this is not gonna help that means that your cammera is broken!
Elaine, did you accidentally hit the "Disp." button on the back of your camera (upper left button, just below the mode selection wheel). This button turns the LCD screen on or off while taking pictures to save batteries.

It sound like a problem with the zooming mechanism (lens would not retract or extended)
Press the power button on and hold it down while extending and twisting the telescopic zoom lens. It might fix you problem.
In any case it could not make it worse
