Hi,my DC07 has just stared to drag and is really hard to push when using in the upright position, it still picks up fine and the hose also works fine. I've looked at the brushbar, and it looks as normal... Any help with this would be great, thanks!

Have you checked that the roller is turning when the vacum is not in the upright position as ther are 2 belts 1 from the motor to the clutch and 1 from the clutch to the roller if the clutch belt breaks you will find it hard to push because the roller is stopprd.... lie the machine down on its side with the vacume in the open position not upright and check if the roller turns it should only stop when in the upright position. PLEASE MIND YOUR FINGERS.

Sounds like one of the filters is either damaged IE a hole or tear or is not seated correctly

Cannot activate the step mechanism that allows for upright vacuuming

Hi Jan, it's Jack at Dyson.

If you're having difficulty reclining your DC17 from the upright position, it's possible something like a pen or pencil has been accidentally vacuumed up, and is jamming the changeover valve.

Our Support guide should help you check for this: http://www.dyson.com/support/dc17/dc17-allfloors/using-my-dyson-list/redirect-to-flo-dc07-gen-how-to-remove-a-blockage/flo-dc07-gen-how-to-remove-a-blockage/redirect-to-flo-dc17-wand-suction/flo-dc17-wand-suction

Cleaner not picking up

Hi Barbara, it's Jack at Dyson.

I'm sorry to hear the brush bar in your machine isn't rotating. Please make sure that the brush control on the cleaner head is set to 'Carpets' rather than 'Hard floors', as the brush bar will not rotate when the machine is set to the Hard floors position.

Please note, the brush bar will never rotate when the machine is standing upright, so make sure it's reclined into the normal vacuuming position before testing it. You might find our online Support guide useful when troubleshooting:

Dyson DC07 bagless - upright mode v poor suction, wand mode ok

Hi its Darran at Dyson.

From your description of the problem, it sounds as though the bleed valve is activating which only happens when there is a blockage.

We would recommend following the full blockage through as outlined in your user guide or in the Support section on our website at www.dyson.com.

Kind regards

Noisy on rugs!

Are the rugs long haired or short haired? Most likely the suction is just causing the noise when it picks up the rug and the buzz saw could be the beater bar hitting the rug then. I actually own a DC14 and it does the same thing and the rugs like to be dragged along. Nothing really to fix this, just the way it is. You could try it with the beater bar raised and see how well it works then but this sounds normal.

Have a good day

Dyson dc07 suction when upright but no suction when tilted in operate position

Not sure if this will definitely fix the problem.......but here goes for anyone with the same problem....spoke to Dyson helpdesk today following some online research i did yesterday. The 'internet' view is that there is a design fault with the cyclone chamber of the DC07 and that older models need it replaced. Mine is a 2003 model and Dyson asked me if there was a Number 1 stamped on the back of the cyclone housing near where the air duct connects to the hoover body....there wasn't. They then said they would send out a new cyclone chamber free of charge (I bought my model as reconditioned in 2007 from an approved Dyson dealer, so no Dyson warranty) suggesting they are aware of a problem. Advice on another site by someone who was also sent a new cyclone is that the holes in the early cyclones were too small and got easily clogged. I'm now waiting for my new part and will see if that fixes it.
very strange though - my old DC01 was a far better model from what I have seen so far of the DC07 - they seem to have gone backwards in design & reliability.
Very impressed with the service from their helpdesk though - they put other companies to shame with their speed of answering the phone and the ability to actually talk to someone not just a series of automated menus - well done Dyson for that at least - I'll reserve judgement on the DC07!!!.
