Wow only 10 then major work, hum. First if pic is:Split screen picture with one half darker than the other half. "Deep Field Imager" is set to the demo mode, press the "video" button repeatedly to cycle through the video settings until Deep Field Imager is accessed and then change the setting from demo to "on" or "off" depending on preference. Also u can try:1. Dark blue raster with faint movement in the background, suspect the FMT PCB part # 934C153001 . Also1. May be intermittent. Remove and reseat the DVI cable between the Chassis and Optical engine 2. Removing and reseating the DVI cable does not resolve, replace the Optical Engine part # 938P015020 Hope this helps Tom!!

Since this set is still under warranty, DO NOT open it up at all. That will void the warranty. Your best bet is to report the problem and request service. Request that this service be scheduled for a few weeks out and try to see if there is a pattern to when it occurs. For example, does the problem seem to occur most often after the set is on for a while? Any information that you can provide to narrow down the conditions when the problem occurs will be helpful. Please report this as an intermittant problem. Even if nothing is intially found, if the problem becomes more regulatr after the warranty period has expired, it should still be covered.

Since you're using "analog cable", I would adjust the television such that the picture is not streched. This means there will be black bars to the left/right of the 4:3 picture, but you should experience some improvement in picture quality because the TV is not trying to interpolate what to do with an already crappy analog cable signal.

You may also want to add a signal booster where the cable first enters your residence... often, folks split that analog signal up so much it is weak... and looks much like you describe.
