I bought the car used and it only came with one remote. Then my car keys, along with other stuff, was stolen and so the one remote was lost. The car drove fine before losing the remote. Now, although I can enter the car with the spare key, the antitheft system kicks in and the car won't start (it starts but then a second later shuts down. I've tried various methods to get into the car with just the key (ie. unlock, lock, and unlock the car w/ key, hold key in the lock position for several seconds before turning it to the unlock position, etc. however nothing works. Now I have the car at the dealership and they are trying to program a new remote, however they say that the car is missing a part within it, disabling a new remote from being programmed. Advice?

now sometimes this happens to let you know that one of the doors are open
check your doors
this is the only thing i can think of altho you have most likely checked it lol
also lock the car with the key
you don't want it to get stolen

turn door lock left twice to un do alarm ,on old cars it may or may not work due to old age

I would contact a Chrysler dealer and speak to a tech, they will answer for free. They would know best what may be going on.Sounds kind of like it needs a reset. That's all I got. When in doubt, contact a dealer. If they want money, call around is some basic advice I use for not too many problems but this one qualifies.Good luck! Since the second key does not have the electronics in the case, it will not allow the car to run, as it thinks its being stolen. If you give your local chrysler dealer your VIN number, they should be able to produce a second key that will start the car. (VIN number is found at the bottom of the windshield on the driver's side or on you ownership)
