A dark large stripe on the screen which won't go away
A vertical dark stripe, which takes up exactly one fifth of the screen (it is the second fifth from the left). It is not completely dark, but just darker than the rest of the screen.
1. Can it be fixed?
2. If it is not fixed - is this a sign that the screen is about to completely be out of oreder soon?
Thanks a lot,

Re: A dark large stripe on the screen which won't go away
It is definitely a screen related issue. There are 5 drivers each running a section of the screen. Obviously one is out, but that doesn't mean the others are on the way.
You may be able to find a replacement screen if you'd like to attempt the replacement yourself. Otherwise you always have the option of using a service center.

It sound like the color or the screen parts inside of the game boy color are not working properly so it would just be easier to buy a new one vs fixing the current one. The current one could be fixed but it might not be an easy fix and the fix might be complicated then.
the screen might be broken. when that happened to one of mine i found a crack on the edge of the screen in the glass/plastic? type stuff but it only affected the aria right near the crack. found out my roommate chucked his glasses at it. if not idk
Yeah, I have this exact same problem, except my mom slammed my laptop shut in frustration around half an hour ago, so that's why it's like this. The right half of my screen is black with two colorful stripes (mostly white), but the left half is visible. I've researched a bit and found out that this is because the LCD in your monitor has burnt out, and since you don't have a monitor to attach, the only thing you can do is to go to where you bought the laptop and either get it fixed for free or return it for a brand new one (if your warranty still stands). If not, you might as well get a new laptop. I think my warranty has expired, so I'll get a new laptop, hopefully.
I experienced the same approx. 1/2" vertical stripe on a Viewsonic vx1945 and ATI Radeon x1050 video adapter on Vista Business SP1, but the stripe appeared along the left edge of the screen, instead of right edge. I then temporarily decreased the monitor resolution, and the stripe went away. I then increased the monitor resolution back to its original setting, and the stripe did not re-appear. So, that was the 'fix' in my situation, hope this helps.
