I have a Philips HTS 8140 sound bar and am unable to play dvd's that I bought when living in the uk on it. I would like the code to unlock the dvd player in order to play dvd's from all regions.
I bought today a Philips HTS 8140 region 4 and i use this solution
1.
Abrir a bandeja do aparelho / Open the tray
2.
Aperte a tecla DISC / Press DISC buton
3.
Digite o código 99990 / Insert 99990 code
4.
Feche a bandeja / Close the tray
Maybe you can use a DVD copy program to get a copy without region code and then you can play the copy with the same contents on your player. DVD player usually can change region code for limited times and I won't suggest to do it.

I believe that the codes are hard wired into the system. That was the reason for them in the frst place. Stop people from selling copied DVD from overseas from being sold elsewhere.
