Creative Zen won't turn on

My player won't turn on. It will turn on when I plug it to the adapter. (the battery sign doesn't show up). When I unplug it, the player shuts down after five seconds. I've replaced the battery, and tried to upgrade the firmware , but nothing seems to work. Please Help.

I have just recieved my creative zen and just loaded my songs, it says on the computer that it has a full battery but when I unplug it from the computer I don't even get a light. I have tried the reset button and holding the button for thirty seconds while it is plugged in and both have yielded no results. I have not used this thing one time yet!

Polish the battery contacts (including inside unit) with a pencil eraser.

My zen vision m 30 gig only comes on when plugged into the mains

If the recharageable battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out.Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles andwill lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR Thebattery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the batterydrops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to anunacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced.

Creative Zen V Plus will not charge using an adapter

Install the software included with the Creative Zen V Plus. Many problems with the MP3 player can be resolved by installing or updating the software included with the device. Use the CD that came with the player to make the install, or log on the Creative Zen V Plus product page on the company website to download the latest firmware:

Turning on issue...

your battery life may be dead. i have one of these as well that i am formatting to an external hard drive. besides that. you need to take it apart search on youtube on how to do that and unplug the battery from the mainboard. it will be a small plug on the back of the main board. and then plug in you charger via usb to creative while still take apart. dont touch the screen or the button parts those will not help you. then plug it back in once it boots and you should be fine. if it continues you need a new battery wich i have available if youd like somehow

Zen wont work on battery

The battery is bad or the charging circuit is flaking out. Try plugging it in and from the wall side of the charger, unplug and plug it in several times. Sometimes on the Zen players that will shock it back into charging. I have seen that same charging issue on several models of Creative players.

Cheers

Trouble

167labrie does your zen power up while it is plugged into the ac adapter? If this is the case it is a bad battery. I had this problem where the unit wouldn't take or hold a charge from the ac adapter or the usb cable and they ended up replacing the unit.
