Optical mouse I just got an optical mouse, but it "floats" when not in use, usually to the left side of the screen. If I stop moving it, it will keep on going. Any ideas?

My HP optical mouse goes beyond the viewable area on my HP monitor (but just on the right side).

should just have to use the buttons on your monitor to adjust the width of the screen or maybe move the screen to the left.

Mikomi mouse

An optical mouse works based on imaging principle so we have the freedom of accessing even in a 3D way. If your Optical mouse is not moving the cursor side wise, I would suggest you to look for the exact Mouse driver and install it. Usually on a Windows XP machine they work as plug and play.

If the Driver is working fine, you must look for the Windows or OS compatibility. The WDDM compatibility can also cause this to happen.

Else you have to replace the mouse.

Good Luck.

I've got a optical mouse 3000, and a bunch of batteries in the junk drawer, I'm sure at least one of them has good life in them, but the mouse keeps flashing red....also it seems to work when I right...

The red light is connectivity to the dongle on the PC.
Check your mouse settings in Windows for the left mouse button settings.
Does the mouse move on the screen?
You can try reversing the mouse buttons to see if the button is defective. If you swap the buttons and now right mouse clicks do not work, the button is defective.

USB mouse is jittery

Try the mouse on a different surface, also be sure you do not have any light directed at the mouse - this confuses the eye. Although no mouse pad is required for an optical mouse, sometimes it helps

Cursor moves diagonally by its self.

I've had this a work a number of times and it is usually a case of replacing the keyboard of the laptop. Its usually the pointing stick in the middle of the keyboard thats interfearing with your usual mouse motions. You can disable this usually by going in to the keyboard settings in control panel and disablign it in "pointing devices" This would resolve the issue without the need to replace the keyboard.
