I'm not sure what happened. I was listening to music with the player on hold when the volume shot up all the way. I quickly reset the player and was welcomed with my firmware doing the exact opposite of what it had done before (volume all the way down automatically). Because it was constantly turning down I could not do ANYTHING except reset. I then got a screen that flipped from Now Playing to Voice Recording mode which I was unaware the firmware even had! I have already removed the faulty firmware, cleaned the disk and am getting ready to upgrade my firmware. However, if a solution could be offered for future reference I would appreciate it!
Have you tried updating the firmware of your Zen V Plus? I've had mine for almost an year and haven't had these issues -- I updated the firmware as soon as I unpacked it.
try downloading the MP3 player recovery tool from Creative's website (the tool contains the latest firmware update available -- 1.15.03). Plug your ZV+ into your PC, run the program and let it update the firmware. Then format, reload your music and try it.
By the way, before updating the firmware, let the battery have a full charge, ok?
I hope it won't keep freezing on you after the update.
