This is a processor problem almost certainly. Although a screen component may also be also failing. Only a repair shop with all the knowledge and facilities can check and advise you further

Monitor screen changes from regular color to a green tinted screen?

Connect a different monitor to your computer, if it still displays the same fault the the problem is the video card and you need a replacement.

I have a hp pavillion S50 15in crt and it has a green hue to the screen.

There are a few things that can cause this. The two most frequent: (a) Has the monitor or computer been moved? The connector may be loose or slightly "off" of the port on the video card.  (b) If that's not the case, does it happen all the time? It's possible that one of the color 'guns' is off or malfunctioning - which means, essentially, a dead monitor. A 15" CRT just isn't worth fixing these days.  The little buttons beneath the monitor, unfortunately, do nothing for color adjustment - just brightness, contrast, and the usual positioning controls.

Ghosting, Flickering, Green Sparkeling Lines, Color Washout.

There is a component failure on the board inside the display. Since you did not post the model number that is all that I can tell you.

I had a similar problem on a different monitor and fixed the green sparkles by selecting a lower refresh rate.
