SOURCE: how to change the battery on my BE365-CAM-716 Schlage Keypad Deadbolt

Problem fixed by having my wife look it up on the Schlage website. The deadbolt has a flash memory so your combinations and codes will not be lost when the batteries are changed.

SOURCE: i have a kwikset deadbolt

I had the same question as my son installed the lock. Instructions should be printed on the cover you remove (inside the house). They need to make removing that cover MUCH easier, I'm always afraid I'll break it. Anyway, you press the button once for the first number. To enter a "guest" code, press the button twice then enter the 2nd code in the keypad and press the lock button. Now try both main # and guest #, both should open ttthe lock.

Take the back off of the deadbolt where you install the batteries. The instructions are inside.

SOURCE: deadbolt behaves like dead battery

Hi,
Does it do that only with the door closed... or also with it open??? Something is binding the deadbolt and causing it not to be able to open...I have seen doors that you would have to pull them closed as the deadbolt tries to open to take pressure off of the deadbolt so that it could open...
Also make sure that the deadbolt is not binding anywhere...as it goes in and out.
Other then that the motor has simply become too weak to move the deadbolt.

SOURCE: Weiser keypad deadbolt lock deadbolt does not move

Hi... You have too be sure that the deadbolt is free when it go inside the deadbolt hole... however this system is very low power and the (over torque clutch) will sleep if the deadbolt it's not completely free.
Also if you try to open the door before you unlock it, you may block the the deadbolt inside the deadbolt hole. Take care too unlock the door before open-it...

I don't know what's wrong with it. I tryed to unlock it and it beeped well everytime i try it just beeps now. Also there's a green light .

There are two things to consider.

The first is if the door the unit is mounted on tends to jiggle when it is windy outside. This jiggling will loosen the batteries inside just enough to set off the beeping. I have two gates and one gate tends to jiggle from slight breezes, setting of the beeping. Finding something like a rubber square pad that you can press to secure the batteries more tightly and maybe use some electrical tape to secure the pad against the batteries will help solve this first condition.

The second condition on the gate I have that beeps is the handyman did not install the unit so that the entire back of the unit is fully flush on a flat surface, so it is half on the board trim on my gate and the other half extends out into the air. This allows bugs and weather to enter and rust the insides badly, which I discovered on the second unit I purchased. So, the front and back parts of the unit MUST be fully installed on a fully flat surface ... meaning if you have two planks of wood with a gap in between, you need to use some filler to fill any gap to avoid moisture, etc., from getting inside.

The main problem I see with the design of these is with how the batteries are secured ... so, if someone really bangs/jiggles a gate hard and the deadbolt housing area the deadbolt goes into has a little leeway room allowance making not a tight perfect fit, it can jiggle the gate back and forth a lot, whereby one or more battery will lose just enough proper contact, and sets off the beeping alarm ... or it will simply quit working until the jostled battery is re-secured. Having said that, I have three of these and they are really great.

Do you know how to reprogram digital code?? kwikset 907 lock

1) Remove back cover (instructions usually are stuck on the inside of the back plate cover .. if not continue next ...
2) Make sure all batteries are fully secured.
3) Press the square Reprogram button
4) Press the keypads of your code. If you do not hear any sound when pressing the buttons, then it means your batteries are not fully secured.
5) After entering your code, press the middle keypad (lock) once.
6) To double check things are working right, then press the keypad buttons again and then when you see the deadbolt is unlocked, then press the middle keypad (lock) again to ensure the deadbolt comes out to lock.

Recommend periodic lubrication of the deadbolt lock for less strain on the batteries ,,, and lubricate the key lock occasionally as well.

How do I reset the code? I just moved into a house that has one but no instruction manual.

On the inside under the back plate you will find a button on the bottom left. Press button once enter you code 4-8 digits. Then press lock. Re-enter the code. If it unlocks you code is entered. This unite can keep two codes. To set the second code hit the back program button twice and follow the above directions. Also not the key lock is a Smartkey sysyem so you can change the key also.
