I can not find the cd with the device drivers on it so if some one could help me out and tell me where to get them at i would be so greatfull .
And I did. Just plugged it in and started burning away... No problems at all. But Nero won't recognize the fact that it is supposed to support Lightscribe. That's actually the only reason I'm browsing for something in a driver, 'cos the rest is working nicely...

You do not need any device drivers for this drive to work, you just connect to a USB 2.0 port using the usb cable or a USB 1.1, although this is a little slower. The software that is supplied with the writer is burning/authoring software programme, so you would have to download a free cd/dvd burning programme(just do a google search) or purchase one. Nero burning software is supplied with the unit, but as for playing dvd's you have windows media player for that.

My LG 2166D plays all dvds and cds but after ripping some of my old cds back on the laptop, it has stopped reading empty cds. I have tried TDK, Sony, and Memorex cds none of them work. I am running it on Windows XP, can somebody help me? do I need any drivers for this??
when i put a blank cd in to burn songs to it it always says cd not recognised could you help me. thanks
I have not been abel to rip anything with this device. I would have loved to back up my DVD but do not have the option to do so. Please help
