DWL G510 where can I possibly find a cd to reinstall this. I tried copying from the internet, just the driver but the conversion didn't go so well. I have an online MAC and I want to continue using my PC but can't install the wireless card.
Any suggestions?
Here are the drivers:
The hardware version is given on the bottom of the device. Example: H/W ver.:A1 or H/W ver.:B1
If you have DWL G510 rev A:
ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Wireless/dwlg510/Drivers/dwlg510_driver_100.zip
If you have DWL G510 rev B:
ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Wireless/dwlg510_revB/Drivers/dwlG510_revB_drivers_S0031.zip
Care to explain?
Did the drivers not work or were you not able to unzip them.
It could be that the old drver is corrupt and the system is still holding onto them.
I just want to make sure - what operating system are you using?
If it is XP or Vista, try this - right click on My Computer, select Manage and then select Device Manager from the list on the left.
On the right, click on the + sign next to Network Adapters and it will expand out to show the adapters that are recognized. Right click on the DWL G510 and uninstall it. If it asks to if you want to delete the driver say yes. Remove the DWL G510, reboot the system and reinstall.
If you cannot see the DWL G510 under network adapters either the adapter has gone bad or there is a problem with the slot in your computer because even if the wrong driver is installed or none at all, it will show up as a unknown device.
While in Device Manager please make note of any devices that have a yellow warning sign next to them.
Please wait until we are finished to rate because at my level a Thanks for Trying or even a Helpful actually drives my rating average down.
