Mp3 player won't play

I have a 1gb iLo mp3 player from Walmart that worked for a few months, but now it won't recognize the songs. It still works as a storage device, my songs show up on the computer, but when I try to pull up the songs on the screen or play them, it shows an empty list. Please help.

Your ILO has somehow lost its file structure. look for a tiny pinhole to reset the device. if none, then remove batteries to attempt reset. if still no songs, then firmware upgrade if possible or copy file structure (using windows) from a friend's ILO.

2GB SD Card Problem.

you cant expect all mp3 players to play as many songs as u wnt. each mp3 player has a limit of memory card that needs to be attached. see whats the maximum memory your mp3 player can support. and also see if you can locate all the songs when the SD card is connected to your computer

Ilo 1GB Mp3 Player Only had for a month and quit working properly

YOU HAVE TO SYNC THROUGH MEDIA PLAYER - IT DOES NOT RECONGIZE SONGS IF YOU JUST COPY THEM ONTO THE SD CARD.

FOR VISTA -This player only seems to be able to transfer MP3 format with Vista, using windows media player syne. Unless someone found otherwise.

FOR XP PRO When using XP Pro and Windows Media Player you can transfer WMA but you have to go into the PROPERTIES of the drive (mine was mp-556/G: drive) and DESELECT the option to transfer FOLDER HEIRECY. The MP3 player is not able to reconginize the folder structure it usually creates by default.

My Ilo 1GB Player isn't playing songs correctly...

The songs are in the wrong format

There are two ways to format an Mp3 player - one on the computer itself, and one in Windows Media Player. Both methods will end up erasing all the songs on the player, but the player will be "good as new" after that. Sometimes reformatting in this manner will override the player's native formatting and cause problems - this can be reversed in most cases by updating the player's firmware. Firmware upgrades are available from most manufacturers' websites.

WARNING: The following procedures will erase all songs on the player.

Check if the file system is NTFS. If yes, format it to FAT or FAT32. - Connect player to computer, double-click my computer, right click on icon of mp3 player and select format. This only applies to Windows-based computers.
You can also format the player in Windows Media Player itself:
Connect your Mp3 player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "name of Mp3 player here 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
