I just replaced my convergence IC's per all the great advice online and it fixed all the channels except my HD channels (through cable). The HD channels still have the red ghosting problem. My TV is a Panasonic PT51HX41E
Are there other Resistors/caps/fuses that need to be replaced?
Thanks in advance

Re: Convergence for HD channels only
please check the IC7102 (24LC64). This is eeprom that contains the convergence data. Please ask the Panasonic dealer if they can supply a replacement IC with the data for your HD.

Does the kit have a pair of convergence ICs? That is what you will need to fix the convergence problem. The kit should also contain thermal grease(a white paste that should be applie to the ICs before you solder them) and resistors that may also need to be replaced. When a convergence IC blows its usually due to failed resistors.
You are suffering from a convergence problem. In this case I recommend you see a TV tech. To pull the convergence board is a real chore. Your convergence board will have too many bad grounds to even begin to count. You may not have to replace the convergence IC. The IC will be of a STK-393-110. In many cases this IC will be replaced by an after market part. You will have to check and replace resistors of a 2 watt value of about 3.9 ohms. In good faith, the TV man will replace this convergence IC ,as to try to correct the problem the first time. Good advice for the ,do it your selfer. Take this note to a TV tech. Some knowledge could save you a few bucks. Thanks for asking and show all hands of support!

DA, convergence circuit has failed, the IC`s and possibly a couple of support resistors need to be replaced, your right about it being a good set, 6 years is about average for convergence IC`s, call your local shops for a few estimates and get it fixed, it will run for a lot longer than 6 years, hope this is the advice your looking for, e-mail me if you have more questions, BMW Rider
A convergence IC has burned out. If I remember correctly, those Pioneer sets have one huge convergence IC, but that IC only has 5 channels in it so they use another smaller dual STK IC and one half of it is used for the 6th channel and the other half is the vertical output. Look on the convergence board, find the blue convergence jack, identify the blue horizontal channel, follow the traces and replace the IC handling the blue horizontal channel.
if you can remove the rear panel assy. look for the convergence ic's they start with stk--- and you got the part number you need a source panasonic is 814 source and the number on the ic's stk 390 ----/
replace ic chips pt# stk392-120 or stk392- 150 and there are 12 resistors located near ic clips pt# 6r8 ( color code blue - gray - gold - gold ) board location no#s 3149 thu 3160 if you look close you may find two resistors discolored as i found on my convergence circut board , also use heat sink compound on new ic chips , take your time to mark all wire connectors going to board from tv , also use .022 dia gage rosin -core solder and a 15- 25 watt soldering iron you may have to adjust the red - blue convergence afterwards my tv set is 3 yrs old also ( thanks holbert )
