OSCAR NUOVA SIMONELLI WONT" GO ABOVE 165F AT GROUPHEAD
THe boiler element has been replaced by service as well
as the p'stat with a commercial one. Machine is 1.5yrs old.
Everything works fine except grouphead temperatures are extremely low.(165Fmax) after 2.5hrs of being on.
I double checked with a new digital thermometer and a manual one. the temps were identical.
The steam is incredible and the pump works great.

This is a good little machine. its basically a commercial machine shrunk down for home and is worth repairing even if you have to take it in. go to nuova simonelli usa website and download the parts manual and check the 009500014 thermal fuse and the 09500004 highlimit thermostat and see if one is gone or tripped. check the pressure stat, check if power to elements and if there is check to make sure the elements havnt failed from being heated with no water. like i said this machine is on par with a rancilio silvia so well worth repairing. when you descale your machine, how did you drain the water? I think the scale particles clogged your steam pipe. And also if you had put a lot of descaling chemicals, this chemicals can eat up the heating element. If you can remove the heater and check it physically and also cleaning and removing the scale inside the tank will help.
Could be lack of water in the boiler, could be a faulty pressure stat or vent valve. Check the level probe first, then the vent valve and then the pressure stat. You can also use the manual fill to make sure water is getting to the boiler.
