Hi, it is not possible to have a virus in your camera that would have any effect on how the camera works.
But it is possible that someone would put a virus onto your memory card, but formatting the card or internal memory of the camera will erase everything.
Having a virus in your camera is very unlikely, for someone to put a virus into your camera, your camera would need to be stolen by another person, and then give it back to you.
you can scan your camera by right clicking on the drive of the camera inside your Computer / my computer folder and select, scan with your antivirus.
There is a write-protection tab on the mini sd card HOLDER. Every time you insert this into your PC or card holder, this tab slides to the write protect position. Either keep resetting, inserting & reinserting until it doesn't slide or tape it down.
There is nothing wrong with the mini sd card. Simply locate the write protection key and push it.
The mini sd card has some error: Go for a low level formatting.
The card has virus: Remove the virus. The link for the steps is present in the related link at the bottom of the article.
Maybe your computer is virus infected. Better to download your pix using card reader. This will also make your camera safe from virus from your computer.
There is a faulty in your memory card. Try to use a memory card reader to read your memory card on the PC. Then have all the files save (avg scan to make sure there's no virus) and reformat your memory card. Now, try to re-insert your card, check if it detect it.
try to use other usb connector and connect it directly to your board at the back of your pc not the front or try to insert other computer if your camera detect into the other computer it mains your computer maybe encountered the virus. and when your camera inserted to your computer if have apear this word (new found hardware) it mains your camera need a driver software, thank you
is this because i used the usb cable for another devide? - i dont think so. the usb cable that comes with the benQ camera is the usual usb cable. i used it for other devices and still works fine with my camera again. i even used another usb cable from other devices in camera and it works fine.
is it a virus maybe? - well you can try inserting a different device in that usb port, now if it still cant see it, its probably busted. all your usb ports are on used? wow! how about you try taking some of it out and check those ports for your camera.
