Camcorder problem My Sony trv37 beeps and then asks for the taps to be re-inserted whenever we try to rewind or fastforward. I have tried 3 different tapes and the problem continues to happen. Playback and record are fine.

My Sony handycam won't allow me to use the touch screen features in play mode. I can't rewind, play or fastforward the tape. It has reached the end of the tape - what now?

If the touch screen of the Camcorder is not working, please follow the troubleshooting steps.

Please make sure that you're using fully charged batteries.

Turn off the Camcorder and turn ON again and check the operation.

Reinsert the tape and check the operation

Try another tape to check whether the issue persists only with particular tape.

Try resetting the Camcorder by pressing the reset button behind the LCD panel.

Note: In the above figure, 8 represents the reset button.

If the issue persists again, please perform LCD screen Calibration and check if that helps.

Please follow the steps below to perform the LCD Calibration

If the issue persists again, service is required.

I hope this information will help you to resolve the touch screen issue of the Camcorder.

My sony camcorder shuts of while taping and rewind and ff controls dont work.

This sounds like a power problem, the fast forward needs quite a lot of power, keep camera on charge over night.

My sony trv37 cassette door won't close.

If this condition only occurs with as cassette inserted to load this may indicate a condition where the cylinder which holds the video heads is not spinning up when requested by the system control microprocessor.
If the door will not latch closed with/or without a cassette inserted this can indicated a mis-timed condition of the tape loading mechanism.
Try closing the door without a cassette loaded whilst the unit is powered from its AC Adaptor - under certain conditions this may allow the mechanism to reset and may allow the door to then close.
I trust that this information is of assistance! RHN
