My monitor suddenly starting flicking on and off, so I tried turning the monitor off and then turning it back on and it work for about a minute, but suddenly just kept flicking through all the menu languages and then I turned off the whole computer and left it for about 10 minutes and turned it back and now it just keeps flicking through the magicbright setting without me touching the button.

SOURCE: Power button

There may be two chances , I have the experience but it was resolved by the first one

1. You should full scan your PC with any good and Updated antivirus.

2. Also you should try to re-install your monitor drivers but check with the first one, the problem will get resolved definately.

SOURCE: Samsung Syncmaster 204T flashing

Hi,
Please check that all the cables are plugged in firmly on the back of the monitor and on the back of the computer.
However....
It sounds like the back light on the screen is faulty. If this is the case it is definitely a return for repair problem. You should be able to find the warrantly procedure for your area on the samsung website.
Cheers

SOURCE: Monitor turns off after 10-15 minutes despite

hello
I am a technician-informatic. I have repaired about 80 Lcd Samsung monitors with theese problems. I offer the repair manual.
Manual has been done with the experience of the repairing Samsung Lcd monitors. Manual was made by me and shows how to open monitor, how
to solve dark screen problem, how to check and replace capacitors, how to solve the problem non-optimal mode (without reprogramming MCU or
changing the main board) photo are included. 100% functional. The repair process is very simple 30-40min. (does not need a lot of
experience in electronics and expensive instruments) and is not expensive. With this manual you can solve problems by yourself and save
money.

"Not Optimum Mode 1280x1024 60Hz"
- The monitor turns on but turns off by itself, the LED blinks green.
- If you detach from the PC points to "control cable" the picture runs continuously in the vertical direction or presents while line , and
as soon as it is reconnected, the monitor goes off.
- The monitor does not turns on and dont dispaly anything, the LED blinks green-lit, if you detach from pc points to "control cable".
- The monitor turns on, works well some time, but after a window apiers "Not optimum mode. Mode recommended 1280X1024 60Hz"
- The monitor turns on, works well only with low resolution 800x600, when try to change a window that reads "Not optimum mode. Mode
recommended 1280X1024 60Hz"

the manual you can find on ebay (my ebay name is asnerejas123):

Was dusting monitor and computer area and now monitor won't come on. Have checked all connections.

I've experienced similar problems and the power button gets dust in it and it stops working. Try 'flicking' the power button to see if it clears it, that's what I do.
hold the power button firmly closed then suddenly release it - I use the edge of my nail to hold it closed.

On and off cycleing could be caused by a bad power supply or a low battery on your remote. Check them both out. Good luck.

Compaq 7550 screen issues

Your monitor is having thermal problems. Some part in the horizontal circuit is changing value as it warms up, and you're seeing the effect. It's possible to troubleshoot this kind of problem by using spray chiller to cool down parts and find the culprit, but labor and parts would probably mean you're better off just replacing it. New LCD's are quite cheap today, and you'll gain extra space on your desk if you get one.

Computer Monitor Problem or anything else

Contrast and brightness controls usually come from one chip. You can try looking up the specs of the chip online and then determine which pin of the chip conrols brightness. Usually faulty Electrolytic capacitors act like the simptoms you described. Find the Electrolytic capacitor connect in the brightness circuit and you will most likly fix your problem. The chip that contols the brightness might also be faulty. Good luck.
