Everytime I try to sign in it starts then goes right back to the sign in button. I have even tried turning off my firewall. This does not work either. I sign onto msn and it works for 30 seconds then a pop up comes up saying that some pointer thing aint working only option given is close program and it signs me out. i have windows vista. and norton which my computer says is the problem, yet i do not know how to stop it from preventing me to use msn.
Hi, This may be a little help, i used norton 360 with vista and had a few problems with msn, i have since removed norton for other reasons but in the settings or tools there is an exceptions page where you can choose the programs that nortons can ignore if you tell it to allow msn it will then work ok. I believe nortons sees msn as a threat because it has in and out communications therefor it shuts msn down. I hope this helps if not try avg8 it works very well with vista.
First try sign off and sign in for few times , if you still face the problem then uninstall the yahoo messenger and reinstall
Even i also faced the same problem , For few times sign off and sign in had worked or even restarting the PC also worked.
But after uninstalling and installing the yahoo messenger i got rid of the problem
If uninstalling and installing the yahoo messenger also not work then follow the below two steps
STEP -1
go to Start Button - Run - type regsvr32 jscript.dll - then press OK
STEP-2
go to Start Button - Run - type regsvr32 vbscript.dll - then press OK
now your yahoo messenger will work normally.
