I have a second of two 530 models. The first was replaced under warranty as the battery low came on with fresh AA batteries, but would work OK with the more expensive CRV3s. No change with the brand new replacement. I just use the CRV3s. As a side note, both the store I bought it from and the local "Batteries Plus" store told me there was no charger available for the CRV3 batteries. They lied. Many are available cheap on a simple Google search. Hope this helps.

are you using NiMh rechargeable batteries?
If yes, check that they are fully charged. If that doesn't do the trick, sounds like it might be a power circuit issue. Samsung is in Secaucus, NJ
or SamsungUSA on the web
- Pressing MENU/OK button
- Scroll to the right until you are in SETUP 2
- Keep on scrolling down and look for battery type
- Press the right button to pick up on 2 options
like Alkaline and Ni-MH
- Press MENU/OK for changes to be saved
- Keep pressing MENU/OK to get out of the MENU
Once, it's done, camera needs to be turned off for a few seconds
so that settings made will be refreshed with the camera.
As you turn camera on, you're now ready to take many pictures.
ALKALINE (Non-rechargeable) batteries when set to the correct battery type will really take a maximum of 100 pictures.
For the Rechargeable batteries (Ni-MH), when those are fully charged, and the battery type is set to Ni-MH, it will be taking more than a hundred of course.
A temporary fix to power up is to press the menu and power button at
the same time. When the lens is extended and it beeps, on my camera ,
the lens is *stuck* Give it a gentle tug , then try the power button
Does your battery work with regular AA alkaline batteries ? They have higher voltage than NiMH rechargeable. I'm having a similar problem, just discovered today that my camera works fine with AA alkaline batteries.
