Saw a duplicate of this question--not likely the board in the set---suspect the unit feeding signal has a problem----try another source that is component connected with DIFFERENT cables or flip the cables around to test them----source is likely reason---cable box or?

We have used our projector for years, but are now having a problem with the picture. The picture that shows on the screen is shown in a red/purple hue. Any suggestion on how to fix?

Hi,

Are you using component video inputs? You could check the green connectors on both ends of the video inputs. They sometimes develop a poor connection. I would not throw a lot of money at it. It was a good projector in its day but they sell used on ebay or craigslist for $100 - $300 now.

Hope this helps,

Hello, My projector has approx 400 hours of run time. It will not project any hues of red. Any suggestions?

Does it show red hues without any devices connected to it? If the colors are fine without an input device, the problem is your cabling or a connection. To check these, do the following:
1) Disconnect all your cables and observe the ends to make sure they are undamaged. If they look good, reconnect them.
2) Flex the cabling, moving a few inches at a time, starting at one end and moving slowly to the other while watching the projected image. If you see any change, you have found a damaged cable and need to replace it. If nothing is found, then try step 3.
3) Replace your cables with any spares you might have. If this does not fix the problem then go to step 4.
4) Go into your projector menu and find your color settings. Try adjusting these to see if you get the red hues.

If none of the above provided a helpful solution, The problem is usually the internal color panel. The last time I had one of those repaired it cost about $2000. If you are not very experienced repairing electronics or electronic components, you should not attempt this.

Mitsubishi wd 52525 lost greens and blues. only colors on screen are red hues.

This the classic symptom for component input wires being crossed. Check color coding on tv input and signal sourse. Green,Blue and Red wires must correspond. If ok Is the color off on the tv menu also. If so and wires are ok replace light engine.

My Sony Bravia's screen is showing images in red and black only. By playing with the input sockets at the back (pulling out the leads and reinserting) it was temporarily fixed the problem but, now it seems...

If you are using Component Input (green/blue/red inputs) with component patch cords, try using other input jacks ( Video In (yellow) or Cable/RF In). If the color is good, then replace your Component patch cord, the green one is broken.

No color hues

Have you tried more than 1 source? If this only happens with 1 source- if you're using component cables (green, blue, red) then make sure there is nothing wrong with it. Another thing that can cause this, is a component (RGB) device being plugged into a composite a/v input (yellow white and red).
If this fails, or if the problem is with all sources, the TV is the problem and probably won't be easy to diagnose or repair yourself.. I'd call the manufacturer if this is the case.

Pink shade more in NEC WT-610 PROJECTOR

Using the on screen menu, check the hue or wall color settings. [Hue]
Varies the color level from +/- green to +/-blue. The red level is used as reference. This adjustment is only valid for
Video, Component and TV standard inputs (not valid for RGB and DVI digital).

Using the Wall Color Correction [Wall Color]
This function allows for quick adaptive color correction in applications where the screen material is not white.
The following nine options are available.
• OFF • Blackboard
• Blackboard (Gray) • Light yellow
• Light green • Light blue
• Sky blue • Light rose
• Pink

Toshiba 65H80 has yellow hue.

Check you HD inputs or source. Sounds like the red stream is missing; maybe a loose cable.

Green hue on all inputs

Most likely there is a failure in the video processing. The flickering was from the failing components breaking down.

Your set can be serviced by an experienced tech who has spare boards and the facilities to service your set.
