Kodak ESP-3 All-in-One-Printer still says black ink catridge is low after I replaced it

My black ink has been low so i bought a new cartridge and installed it. However, the printer/computer still says it needs to be replaced and it is still not printing my documents out. I ran a test page, and it printed the black ink so i have no idea what is going on.

There is a sensor in the cartridge which contacts with the printer. See it is clean from dirt. Try reseating the cartridge. If you use cheap cartridge rather than genuine then this could happen.

Check for updates in the Kodak website appropriate for you.

SOURCE: Kodak EASYSHARE 5500 will not print with black ink

Here are the things you will be asked to try if you call support. They may fix the problems as well. Taking the printhead out and putting it back in is the big helper.

Remove the black and color ink cartridges.
Right above where the black ink cartridge was, in the top left hand corner of the printhead, push up towards the ceiling and you should be able to push a button that releases the printhead.
Place the printhead right back into the printer and push straight back on the back wall.
You should hear a loud snap.
Replace the ink cartridges which should snap as well.
Close the printer.
After about a minute or so the printer will ask you to do a calibration.
Insert a paper and press start.
Scan the calibration sheet.
After that, in the menu, do a printhead clean.
(If this is a 5100, do it in the home center ->? in the top right ->Maintainence ->Clean Printhead.)
Do one basic and one deep.
Print a demo sheet to see if anything has changed.
If the picture looks better, continue to do cleans.
In the event that it does not, the printhead will need to be replaced and since the printer is still under warranty, Kodak specialists will try to overnight you a printhead.
The whole process is short and free.
The number for Kodak AiO Support is 1 800 421 6699.

SOURCE: My Kodak ESP 3 all-in-one printer will not print

you may try to clean the printhead and recalibrate the printer. if this will not correct the problem, you need to replace the printhead. I suggest contacting Kodak technical support to have a replacement printhead.

SOURCE: My Kodak esp 3200 series printer wont acknowledge

Is this a genuine ink? If not then try removing and inserting a few times. If this does not work then unplug printer, leave for a few minutes then plug in and turn on. Some non-genuine inks (and some genuine) just do not ever work though.

I was recently given a 5300 all-in-one printer.I want to replace the ink cartridges. I bought ink(kodak) and want to make sure it is correct before I open the box. I bought an ink combo pack for an...

You got it right - the Kodak EasyShare 5300 All-in-One uses 10 series Kodak cartridges, and
since your box says 10B+10C, it has (2) 10-series cartridges in it - one 10-series Black (10B), and
one 10-series Color cartridge (the 10C).

The 10 Series Ink cartridges are compatible with:
EasyShare 5000 series (your All-in-One belongs here)
ESP 3/5/7/9
ESP 3200/5200/7200/9200 Series

How to remove the ink cartilidge

How do I install a new printhead in my all-in-one printer? To replace the printhead in your all-in-one printer:
  1. Make sure the printer is on.
  2. Lift the printer access door and wait for the carriage to move to the access position.

NOTE: For ESP 3250 and ESP 5250 all-in-one printers:
    • On the printer control panel, press Home.
    • Select Maintenance, then press OK.
    • Select Install Ink Cartridges, then press OK.
If "Install Ink Cartridges" is not an available selection, upgrade the firmware.

  3. Remove any paper that may be loaded in the printer.
  4. Remove the black and color ink cartridges and set them aside.
  5. Remove the existing printhead:
    • For ESP Series Printers, unlatch the printhead by lifting the latch in the center of the carriage.

  8. Remove the plastic protective shields.
  9. Place the new printhead into the carriage.

  12. Insert the black ink cartridge into the printhead and press down until you hear it click into place.
  13. Close the printer access door.

The printer detects the new printhead. Follow the instructions on the LCD to calibrate your printer.
NOTE: ESP 3 all-in-one printers do not require calibration.

Black ink cartridge

you should be able to disable black ink printing by going to the printer preferences selection through your Windows OS printer & faxes function.

Alternatively, if you have loaded the printer monitoring CD that came with your printer then the ink status function should prompt you to disable the black cartridge if it detected it has run out.

Kodak ESP 3 doesn't print black ink!

Forgive me for asking this, but roughly speaking about 80 to 85% of problems involving ink or toner are resolved by the following:
Are you using a manufacturer’s factory new ink cartridge or toner? I
f you are using a refilled (worst possible choice) cartridge , toner or ink, or third party cartridge (2nd. worst possible choice) that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges.
They do this to prevent problems from contaminated inks causing problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead.
If you are using the manufacturer’s new ink cartridges, then please contact their technical support group. Factory new cartridges usually have warranties on them.
