SOURCE: whirlpool dehumidifier ad35dssi runs, but

Glad to hear that you thought to clean the filter, as that would have been one of my suggestions. Because, it's the most overlooked.

But, there is another one that equally overlooked and is probably the number cause of your humidifiers problem. The humidity extraction level is set to HIGH. Lower it to 32 - 35%. If your unit does not have an LED Screen readout, set the control on MINIMAL.

This is what gets confusing about the use of dehumidifiers. They work backwards from what most people think. The lower the setting, the more moisture/humidity is extracted from the house. The higher the setting/numbers, the more humidity remains in the house. The higher setting would be used only in the Winter, because removing all the moisture and humidity will make the house uncomfortable.

If this wet area, you mentioned is a basement. The ambient air temperature at floor level is colder than at chest level and dehumidifiers don't work well in temperatures between 40 & 60 degrees F.
If this is the case, placing the unit up off the floor on a sturdy table, counter, etc that can hold the weight of the unit, plus a full bucket of water will generally solve the problem.

Also, be sure that you're maintaining at least 12" of clear air space on all sides of the unit. If the air flow is obstructed, the unit will run all day and not extract any water.

Hope this helped you troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

SOURCE: Hello, I have a Whirlpool dehumidifier

Hello Shane

Mine won't beep at all. But try this trick I watched the guy do when he came to service mine for the recall they had and push Humid button fan button and power button first hold the first two then push the power button and hold all three for awhile. What this did for him was verify all systems working all the lights came one in sequence.

I do this to mine and will beep twice and nothing else. I've taken mine apart to check the fuse and it's still good so there must be a component that is not working.

On the back of your unit you will find a 800 number which will get you in touch with Trans Global Service which serviced it for the recall.

Ihave a comfort aire BHD-301. when i turn it on the filter lite keeps blinking and the filter is clean. is there another filter besides the one on the side?

No, there's only one filter. So be sure that you reinstalled the filter properly, so that it is making contact with the filter switch. If that checks out OK, turn the unit OFF & unplug it for 15 minutes.
After the time has elapsed plug the unit in and turn it ON. Hopefully, during that timeout, the electronics reset and reverted back to the original factory settings, If so, you can now set the controls as you desire.

I hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Hauier dehumidifier HDN305 suddenly won't turn on. No motor goes on and no red or green lights go on either. It's properly plugged in to a functioning electrical outlet which has a functioning...

You have already checked everything I would have suggested, so the only other thing I can think of is the temperature in the room, may be affecting it. If the ambient room temperature is above 112 degrees or below 32 degrees, the unit will shut OFF and not restart, until the temperature is within that range.
If you continue to have problems starting the unit, contact Haier America Customer Support 877-377-3639.

Hope this provided some help to you.

My dehumidfier won't shut off. I check everything out and it's good but it just won't shut off it keep running.

It may be, that you have it running in continuous mode, rather than timed mode. Also, most dehumidifiers fans will run almost continually, to keep the air moving, so the humidity sensor can pickup and increase in humidity, if there is one.

If the above doesn't seem to be the problem with your unit, turn The Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF and unplug the unit for 12-15 minutes. This will give the electronics time to reset themselves, if necessary.

Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

Was full - turned off to empty - replaced empty bucket, won'r turn back on and keeps beeping full

Try reinserting the bucket, making sure that it's positioned properly. So that the safety switch is engaged. If that still doesn't solve the problem. Turn the MASTER ON/OFF Switch to OFF and unplug the unit from the wall outlet. Wait 12 - 15 minutes and plug the unit back in. Turn the MASTER ON/OFF Switch to ON and hopefully, if the bucket is positioned properly, the unit will have reset itself.

Hope this helps you to solve the problem. Please let me know.

Demudifier worked great, all a sudden it just stopped. No power. Now it won't start up. What should I try?

First, check the outlet that it's plugged into, to make sure that there's still power to the outlet. If there isn't, then the circuit breaker for that outlet has been tripped, in your home's circuit breaker panel. Leave the dehumidifier unplugged and reset the circuit breaker. If it trips again, without the dehumidifier unplugged, then the outlet is at fault. Perhaps there's a loose wire connection or the interior of the outlet is cracked.

If it didn't trip without the dehumidifier plugged in, plug the unit it in,. But, before you do, make sure the dehumidifier's Master ON/OFF Switch is OFF. Once it's plugged in, turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON and set your controls. If it runs now, GREAT! If it trips the circuit breaker again, there's either a short in the power cord or an internal electrical short. Which will require extensive troubleshooting to find.

Hope this helps you solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

My Frigidaire dehumidifier model FDL70S1has an error code "A5" My coils keep freezing up as well with heavy ice. It has worked fine in the same spot in the basement for two years until last week....

All most all dehumidifiers have a defrost cycle to take care of this problem. However, yours is either not working or the air intake filter is clogged, which makes the unit strain to keep up. Turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF and unplug the unit, before attempting to remove the filter. Allow the unit to thaw while it's unplugged. Once it's completely thawed, plug the unit back in, turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON and set your controls as you normally do. Within in an hour or two, you will know if this solved the problem. Also, keep in mind, dehumidifiers are designed only to work in temperatures above 41 degrees. If it's below that where you have the unit, that will cause it to freeze up.

With all that said, what you're seeing as the Error Code is in fact, AS (the 'S' looks a lot like a 5 on the LED screen) It indicates a Sensor Failure. In your case, it's more than likely the Defrost Cycle Sensor. The Owners Manual says "Contact your local Authorized Frigidaire Service Center, if this happens. I'm hoping that cleaning the filter (if needed) and allowing the unit to reset itself (while it's OFF & Unplugged) will solve the problem. But, it may only be a band aide fix.

Hope this helped you.

I have one of your dehumidifiers and it turns on but we do not get any water out of it I have had for a few years but it was only used one year and it worked great when we went to use it again we got no...

If you haven't clean the air intake filter since you've had it. More than likely that's the problem. A dirty filter makes the dehumidifier strain to take in the moist air and it just can't keep up.

If you don't have your Owners Manual to guide you through the process. You can download one online, from Sears Parts Central.

Hope this helped you to solve the problem.
