Question about GE 27938 Cordless Phone

Blown Resistor When I plug the base into the wall socket, and then put my handset on the base, the charging light does not come on and the phone will not work. I took the phone apart and have deduced that the problem could be a resistor that has melted. It is so bad that I cannot ascertain what size of resistor that it is(can't tell color code). It is resistor # 110. If anyone could tell me what size of resistor that is, it would be great.

I have not tried your suggestion, but I am fairly sure that it will not work as I have removed the resistor in order to try to read the color code. I have tested the resistor with a meter and it is fried, so badly that I can't even tell the color code.

Because the phone will not work, first prove that it can. Try this: remove the battery and charge it. Read the voltage on the battery label. Read the voltage on the charger label. If the numbers match, then connect 2 wires to the battery from the charger (use tape) with positive terminals on one wire and negatives the other. after charge...about 2 hours, does the phone work?

How to check phone line on panasonic cordless phone

Unplug all the phones from the mains wall sockets, phone jacks, and remove all the batteries from the handsets.

If you have one, plug in an 'old style' corded phone into the main incoming line box. That is normally the one closest to the door.

If you don't have one, plug in the base unit into that master socket by the front door and the mains and put the battery in the handset. If it has a line, plug in the others, if it doesn't contact your telco.

My new phones will not take a charge

Lets start from scratch. Make sure your wall outlet has power. Plug in a working electrical device such as a lamp, radio or vacuum cleaner. It the wall socket works, plug the base back i the socket and make sure it isnt loose or falls out of the socket. Then make sure the other end of the cord is securely plugged into the base. Also make sure the battery in the handset is sucurely and ?correctly in place and the handset is also surcurely in the crade(base) so the metal contacts of the handset are touching the base metal contacts. U may have to let the phone fully charge overnight for 8 hrs while your sleeping without trying to use it. If this doesnt work, u may need new replacement batteries or a battery pack(whichever your phone has) by taking the origional battery to your local electronic store.

How do we complete a basic set up for Plantronic CS70 VT head piece?

Plug in powerpack to the base unit.
Unplug the handset with the curly cord from the phone and place both aside.
A short cord connects between the Handset socket on the PHONE and the PHONE socket on the BASE UNIT.(socket is near the power socket)
the HANDSET and curly cord plugs into the socket near the front of the base unit- it's the one that's extreemly hard to plug in!
Charge for 12 hours before use
Call someone and get them to stay on the phone while you turn the rotary knob (may need a screwdriver) on the side- keep turning it until you can hear each other
look for orange light as you hang it up to indicate that it's chaging

Done!
Good Luck!

Second set does not work

I had this problem - just found the solution. The two charging stands aren't the same. One is a base (that plugs into the wall) and the other a charging cradle. I think that each handset needs to be placed in the base to "register" it.

So, here's what I did: place the unregistered handset in the base & both should work.
